We reached Texas after some hours. I was exhausted a bit. I couldn't believe that I had finally left Liverpool.
A cab was waiting for us outside to drop us at our new house. "My boss has sent it here. We'll soon reach our new home. It's great and boss has also promised to get us a new expensive car," My Dad said loftily.
I sighed, thinking that nothing could make me feel happy for now.
*25 minutes later*
Whoa! We were standing outside our new house. It was a huge beautiful mansion. There was a little garden at the back of the house. It was as beautiful as Dad had said earlier. I stood at the threshold gazing at it's top."C'mon kids. Let's go in," said Mom and Dad in unison, with our luggage in their hands.
We stepped in our house. The walls of our entrance hall was covered with beautiful wallpapers, there were attractive paintings all around. "That one is from London," said my Dad, pointing at one of the eye-catching paintings on the wall. "It's the most expensive of all," he added.
There were five huge lovely roomsin the house. It was kinda like a mini palace.
I was given the room which was right next to my brother's, which I clearly never wanted.
I felt strange after entering my room. It was lovely. My bed felt very comfortable; there was a gigantic book shelf (I had always wanted one as I love reading) and a nice study table. The walls of my room were covered with beautiful cyan colored wallpapers. I liked my room. However, it was giving me peculiar vibes, which I didn't mind.
I liked my new house. But, a part of me was still in my old one, in Liverpool.
We all were busy arranging all our stuffs in our new rooms and we were finally done with our work at 9 at night.
"C'mon everyone. Come down. Dinner's ready," my Mom's voice echoed through the house. We went down for dinner after a tiring day.
There were sandwiches, pasta, hamburgers, french fries and hot dogs placed at the dinner table. A fine trickle of drool leaked from the corner of our mouths. We all sat for the meal.
"So Mel and Jake, your school's starting from tomorrow. You both are going to Texas International School. Believe me, it's the best school here," said Dad, having his first bite of sandwich.
"But Dad how can we go tomorrow. I mean isn't it too early. We've just arrived -
I was cut short by Dad. "No excuses kids. I've got your books and my boss has sent his staff to the principal of the school to talk about our admission. He said that you both can join, by tomorrow. You both need to focus on your studies now," said my Dad.
"Great Dad. I can wait to go to my new school," said Jake enthusiastically. He seemed to overexcited about it. However, I wasn't excited at all.
We all quickly finished our dinner and went to our beds. I was thinking what tomorrow would be like. And soon, I went into my deep slumber.
