Sweet Dreams

Chapter 3

*Derian POV*

I lay in my bed as music flows through my head. I roll over to see the clock, it reads "7:50" in bright green digital numbers. Damn. Looks like its time to get ready for school. I turn my music a few clicks louder and look in the mirror. My hair is a big mess of black, like always. I plug my straightener in as I brush through my rats nest I call hair. After straightening my hair, I throw on a Pierce the Veil shirt on, some blue jeans and a few band bracelets on. Before turning off my music I grab my books and other things for school.

"Derian" calls my mom from downstairs.

"What?" I yell back.

"Breakfast"

"Ok" I cringe as I think of food. I wasn't hungry nor had I been for a few days...nothing like stuffing myself with food to satisfy my mother. I get downstairs and see my dad drinking coffee and reading the paper.

"Dad your still home? I thought you had work" I say as I sit down and take a sip of orange juice.

"Nope not today" he said as he flipped the page, taking a few more sips.

"Oh awesome" I smile and take a few bits of toast before claiming I'm no longer hungry. They nod, I collect all my things and walk out the door.

On the way to my locker in school, there are a few setbacks like Lucas Caraway. He has made it his goal to ruin my life, seriously! Everyday he pushes me around, calls me names, and tells me to kill myself. I've tried to kill myself once, swallowed a whole bottle, maybe 20 anxiety pills. I laid in my bed and listened to music. After about 10 songs I blacked out, I woke up in the hospital. My parents haven't trusted me since. Since that happened the bullying has gotten worse, I've started cutting deeper and more often.

Today, there is supposed to be a new girl coming, I'm the one to show her around. Great. The first bell rang, meaning school was about to start. I made my way to the office to meet the new girl. When I got there Mr. Thompson's door was closed, must have been talking to the new student and her parents. I took a seat in the waiting chairs, and put in my headphones, Death of me by Asking Alexandria was blasted. About 20 minutes had pasted that's when the principles office door opened and a middle aged woman walked out smiling at Mr. Thompson. That's when I saw her, she had black teased hair with a cute little pink bow pulling back her fringe perfectly. She also had a Bring me the Horizon shirt on, with black skinny jeans and black converse with lime green laces. On her left and right arm she wore many colorful bracelets. She was in one word, beautiful. But there was something about her that just seemed...different. I'm not sure what but I will find out. Mr. Thompson made his way over to me as the woman and girl followed.

"I'm sorry it have taken so long, Mr. Lang" Mr. Thompson said with a sympathetic smile. I nod my head and look toward the new girl, she looks at me curiously but soon looks away blushing.

"Oh yes, this" he gestured to the girl. "Is Lily Williams" Lily...I say over again in my head. What a nice name....where had I heard that name before?

"Hi" Lily says in a sweetly soft voice. I look at her and smile back.

"Hey, I'm Derian" I say as I extend my hand she shakes it but we both quickly pull away, I swear it was like a shock. Huh? Weird....

"Derian will be showing you around the school today" the principle says as he guides us out the door. We nod and I start walking to the far side of the school, she walks quickly behind me. I tell her which rooms she's in and all the others too. It wasn't a very big school but it was easy to get last in.

The more I thought the more I wondered who she really was, I was almost sure I'd seem her face before. So beautiful. I wouldn't just forget a face like that.

It was now about lunch time. Lily had no where to go so I invited her to come eat outside with me and my closest friends. Braydon, Dawson, and Mike, Ryan wasn't here today. We ate and joked, Lily seemed out of place, I kinda felt bad for her. She looked to be a quiet type of girl..every time I look around I see her gaze look away from me, like she had been looking at me. I also couldn't help smiling when I say her, or heard her talk.

The bells rang for classes, me and Lily both had Arts ed. I noticed the sketch book she carried around, it had her name and a few little band logo's most of which I recognized. When class started, I saw Lucas walk in.

"Sorry I'm late Mrs. Vanity" he said in a raspy voice. Then he looked over at me smirking evilly, I soon noticed his gaze land on Lily. This made me angry for some reason, I grabbed her hand for a quick second but let go when she turned around. I had to come up with something to say...

"Hey..." I whispered. She smiled, I really loved her cute little smile.

"Hi.." She answered. She reached up and pulled out the little bow letting her fringe fall onto her face, she shook her head then pinned her hair back up.

"I was wondering what you were doing after school" I said lamely. She sat thoughtfully for a minute before pulling out her phone slyly.

"Give me your phone" she said as she smiled once again. I passed my phone to her and looked forward as if listening. I felt someone, Lily, grab my hand, looking over she passed me back my phone. Then my phone vibrated, I looked at the screen it read "from Lily:3 'hey, I'm just unpacking my things. But you could come hang out if you wanted' " I typed a quick message back " from Derian 'I'd love to, give me the address later and I'll be there:p' " Sneakily I placed my phone in my back pocket, looking over at Lily she did the same. I couldn't wait to spend some time with her. I honestly felt like I'd seen her before, like I know her from somewhere!
