The Headhunter of the Woods

We kept walking and I told Kenji to keep his eyes open because I was going on my sense mode and closed my eyes while walking. I sensed lots of living creatures, but they were no threat, just normal animals passing by. I then stopped. Kenji stopped and pointed a cave in front of me. I sense death coming from the cave and the creature is most likely the alpha of this destination. I read a little bit about the alpha of this destination. It was called a Reaper Skeleton. I told Kenji the info and we kept our guard up for any surprise attacks. I stopped Kenji from entering the cave. Kenji asked if there was anything wrong. I told him there was because death is written all over the entrance. I threw a rock down and a whole bunch of arrows shot everywhere in the cave.

    We approached with caution and entered the cave. I disarmed most of the traps, but something unexpected happened. A force of air was blown to us and we flew out of the cave. We heard a huge scream and it was scary indeed. Kenji and I kept our guard up and anticipate any signs of movements. We heard the ground shaking and I was hoping the others didn’t hear it. My eyes had widened opened very. I couldn’t believe what I saw. The alpha of the island was as big, if not bigger than the Creeper itself. It was standing tall and scary and it’s eyes were glowing reddish-orange. I stood back and watched for now what it was going to do. Kenji stepped back and stayed behind me and readied his scythe. The Reaper Skeleton pulled out a bigger scythe probably roughly the size of a car or bigger. I pulled out both my swords and got in a defensive stance. The Skeleton made the first move. It attacked with a straight downward motion. I manage to catch the attack blocking with a “X” motion. I told Kenji to engage and the fight begins. Kenji striked towards the skull of the head. But it’s head was so thick, it was probably harder than a rock. I told Kenji to circle around it to confuse it. The Skeleton was just standing there and staring at me the whole time. I was curious because it did not take out the bow on its back yet. I thought for a moment and then I freaked out and thought it was aiming for Kenji. It looked at Kenji quickly and took out it’s bow. As soon as I move a muscle, a sound of grunting in pain happened. I took an arrow straight to my abdominal and immediately collapsed to the floor. It shot me and was still looking at Kenji. It provoked me to move and timed it’s attack at the right moment.

    I looked at Kenji and he was giving me the scared look. I didn’t seem to know what to do at this point because my vision kept getting blurry and I thought for sure it was the end of me. I fell to the ground and tried to stay awake. I wasn’t sure what I was seeing though. I saw Kenji was glowing red. Some weird mist of energy was surrounding Kenji and his eyes were dead on red. Everyone else came and saw all the commotion. Reinforcements of human size skeletons came and blocked my friend’s path. I had no idea what this creature was capable of and it was clear it has hunter and killer instincts and it acted like as if it was a celestial. I couldn’t get up and the arrow was deep in big time. My vision went blurry and all I saw was Kenji and the Reaper were clashing at each other, Kenji was too strong whatsoever, I’ve never seen him like that before, his clothes evolved to something new looking and it was cool. But something else got my attention.

    Sumiko and Tsuyoshi were being pushed back and Chinatsu and Tomohiro were down to the ground. I had to risk losing blood for the sake of my friends. I got up and the arrow came out of the ground. I went to Absolute Radiant Thunder state and dashed into the group. I did a all out Tri-Unison attack with Misaki, Hisoka and I. I told Misaki to start forming a water circle around everyone and I told Hisoka to shoot his Light Wave at the water with my Spiral Lightning Lariat. Hisoka agreed out of hesitation. We created an all out blast that took out an army of skeletons.

    I look back and saw Kenji was coming to us and the big skeleton was down. Kenji and I were explaining ourselves the situation, but something unexpected happened. The Reaper Skeleton came out of nowhere and stabbed Kenji with the scythe. I knocked the beast back and prepared arrows to us. It shot 5 arrows at once and I successfully deflected the shots. I turned around and told Naomi to come here. Kenji moved and hugged Naomi out of harm's way and something definitely happened. Kenji was shot from behind and collapsed to the ground. I ran to Kenji, but Naomi pushed me out the way and she got shot to the chest. My eyes widened and I thought I was going through a nightmare. Kenji’s eyes widened and velvet flames surrounded Kenji. I got the impression Kenji unlocked his potential. He had a new paint job on his clothes and he was looking scary tough. The creature was gone for good but I wasn’t fully sure if it was coming back.

I fell down and my vision went blurry. Kenji was coming to me with a hand on fire. I refused the treatment and looked at Naomi. Kenji said that I took 2 arrows, but I didn’t change my answer. Kenji went and did something incredibly stunning. He got the arrow out and covered Naomi’s wound from where she got shot. I smiled and closed my eyes, but awoken by Sumiko and Tsuyoshi saying, “Stay with us Kazuki, we ain’t going to lose you too, please don’t go.”

I smiled and urged a word, “This maybe goodbye, I didn’t imagine the story to end like this. Misaki was healing my wound and Kenji was sealing up the wounds on my chest. I was covered in warm blood. My hearing was being interfered with my consciousness and I heard something like, “He lost too much blood,” and, “What can we do.”

I looked at the sky and saw the pretty stars coming out as the sun gets ready to take a nap and rest and the moon coming out to shine the light. I closed my eyes and I was in my mind or something. I was at the school and I saw a door that was glowing. I was slowly drafting towards it. I thought maybe it was time, but something happened. I felt a hand grabbed my hand and I turned around and saw a girl in tears.

“I-iit- it’s you... “ I said losing consciousness.

She hugged me and said, “Don’t give up yet, Kazuki, I believe in you.”

My eyes widened and I got some sense knocked into me.

I said, “I will see you soon, please wait a little longer for me, Hoshiko Kokoro…”

“Don’t keep me waiting too long,” Hoshiko replied smiling and trying to stop crying.
