I waited for what felt like hours, sitting outside the door, watching the end of the hall and expecting her to come. For the longest time, no one came. Then I saw one of the girls from earlier, the girl with the blonde curls who tripped. As she approached me, her nose crumpled up.

"What are you doing there?"

"I'm waiting. Professor Karr told me that this is the room I'd be staying in." I informed her as I scrambled up. "I'm Belle,"

"Maya," She sighed, taking my hand gingerly as she pursed her lips. "I guess we're roommates now," I watched as she drew a key from under her tank top, where it hung on a chain around her neck.

As I wandered the campus, my schedule tucked under my nose, students swarmed all around me. I observed as they all chatted animatedly, following their friends and making their way to their first classes for the new semester.

"Hey," A voice shouted from behind me. "Newbie, wait up!" I sighed in frustration as I turned towards the direction of the yell.

"What do you want?" I snapped, clutching my bag closer as a boy a few inches taller than me ran up to my side.

"I'm Evan," He said, still panting heavily as he held out his hand. His hopeful, brown eyes stared down at me as he tried to catch his breath.

"I'm Belle," My lips were tight as I started to turn away. "And I'm about to be late for my first class,"

"Which class?" His voice rang out closer than expected. "'Cause I can help you find it,"

"I can find it on my own, thank you,"

"You'll be late then," I stopped and turned to glare at him. "What class do you have? I can get you there faster than anyone else on campus,"

"Magic and Normal Relations,"

"Ohhhh," He was walking beside me now, struggling to keep up with my fast pace. "You already passed the building. That's in the Storm Building,"

"Storm Building?" I yelped, stopping as I shipped out a crudely-drawn map. "There is no Storm Building,"

"It's not actually named that," He started to explain, pulling me in the other direction. "People just call it that because it's kind of... mixed emotions. Any classes that combine magic and norman subjects are typically in that building. The magic-based classes are in the Sun Building and the classes that are similar to norman classes, like English and Math, are in the Moon Building,"

"Why does everyone call them that?"

"Because that's what they remind people of. Sun Building is always warm, feels like a day where it's the perfect temperature, sun on your face, bright walls, and lots of light," He sighed and I turned to see a small smile flicker on his face before it was gone again. "Thank you, by the way,"

"For what?"

"Yesterday," He sighed. "Those three girls are always pranking people then disappearing once they pull the prank. The teachers have never been able to find them after. Thanks to you, they finally got punished for at least one prank,"

"Do they know about my involvement?"My eyes flit around nervously, watching for my roommate to appear out of nowhere and get her revenge.

"No," He laughed. "They just think I'm smart enough to be able to do the tracking spell,"

"Praise Merlin," I sighed, an invisible weight lifting off my chest.

"Wait, why?"

"Maya is my roommate," I explained to him as we walked into a gold and silver building. "Who knows what she'd do if she found out that I helped you find her,"
