Chapter 22 - Christmas in Jeju.

In the western world, Christmas is celebrated even by the non-religious as a family holiday, but in Korea, whose cultural background relies heavily on Confucianism, the most important traditional holidays are Chuseok and Seollal so Christmas has another meaning altogether. Boosted by commercialism, Christmas has become another excuse to exchange gifts and like many other non-traditional holidays in Korea, has somehow become a “couple’s holiday”.

Not only because our lovely author gave me POV but also we're

going to spend Christmas at Jeju!!!

"We'll be there for 3 days and 2 nights. We'll be meeting there on the 24th at the pension." Hyunjoong said.There will be a total of 20 persons included in this trip.

SS501. US5. Sungchan, Yunmi, my brother Ki Bum, our 2 coordis, and our managers.

"See you at the 24th! Bye!" Hyunjoong said and he dismissed us.

"I won't go." I heard Sungchan arguing with Jungmin while going out of the meeting room.

"Wae? You'll just spend Christmas sulking at your house. Go with us." Jungmin asked.

I turned around and locked Sungchan's neck in my arms.

"Sungchan-ah! Just go with us! So that Jungmin won't bully me." I said.

"Yah... Hyung.. Jun... I can't... BREATHE!" she shouted as she released herself from my arm.

I saw Jungmin threatening me with his fist so I ran.

"Sungchan! You should go! Jeju is FUUUN!!" I shouted as I ran.

24th December 2015.


It's 2 in the afternoon and we just arrived from Teddy Bear Museum.

The US5 boys immediately went upstairs followed by a pissed off Sungchan to rest.

Why is she pissed off?

Simply because...

Hyunjoong, Youngsaeng, Kyujong, Hyungjun, Kibum, the managers, Yunmi, and the two coordis went to Busan to celebrate Christmas.

So to sum it up, we were assigned to babysit the 5 boys in the middle of the holiday.

The pension was quite big specially for seven persons.

I went to the kitchen and checked if there are stocks of food but unfortunately, the drawers, fridge, are all empty.

I went upstairs to talk with Sungchan and saw that she's helping the boys unpack.

"Where are you sleeping?" she asked as soon as she saw me.

There are 3 bedrooms on the second floor of the pension and each room could accomodate 5 to 6 persons.

There are no beds but only mattresses to lie on and comforters and blankets and such.

"I guess I'll sleep here." I said.

"Eh? Sunbaemal... There are two more rooms, why aren't you gonna sleep in one of them?" Heejun asked.

"Then why don't you sleep in one of those rooms?" I asked him.

"Yah! Stop it! My head is aching so much now. Aish..." Sungchan shouted as she knew that any moment Heejun and I would be bickering endlessly.

"Oh... Sungchan-ah, there aren't any groceries downstairs. We have to buy at the grocery." I told her.

"Ah... Ok. Let me finish unpacking my things." she said and she went to the room beside the US5.

I followed her and saw that the room is too big for a single person..


Hmmm... Can't I?

"This room is too big. I guess I'll sleep with you and the boys." she said as she dragged her luggage back to the boys room.

"Sangkyun-ah, take care of your members. I'll be bringing Kyu Ran along." she said.

"Eh? Why are you bringing Kyu Ran? I can carry all those bags!" I complained.

Kyu Ran looked at me and snickered.
