I was betrayed to for no apparent reason. Torn. Force to distrust the one I had the most trust for. After verbal amends and apologies were exchange, granted, we united as a pair once again. A couple. No one but us knows about the underlying dark of our relationship as I donned a facade of light. I half smiled at the mention of his name and immediately shy away to prevent true emotions from evading my conscience.

Sex was the thread hanging our relationship over a bottomless pit – after the last rendezvous I called our relationship quits. My heart ached. My first love destroyed my trust to shreds.

Months float by. I meet and date a new guy I had met at a Kappa kickback. His personality - bomb. His subtle green eyes, body, and mocha complexion was to die for. He was the perfect guy trope any female could ask for at my age. The last few months with Cell had been outworldly and I never learned and critical thought as much in a short period of time until we had began fucking with each other. The sex was extraterrestrial.

One day, a familiar number flashes a text on my screen. Amidst giggling at MarceI's normal goofiness, I analyze the eight digits and my stomach churns into knots. My smile falters.
I suppose Cell had notice my face distort, he pokes my looming finger with a fork. I snap back into reality.
"You good?" His bellowing voice cuts through the tension.

My eyes hit the floor as if the ground was going to root with excuses. "Uh – yeah, I'm straight... Just got some news."

Breaking news. Ex just texted me.

Cell gives me an uneasy stare for a few seconds and shifts his attention back to his medium well steak.

I steadily pick up my phone and shoot a text back.

"Tf you want?" Send.

I set my phone face down back onto the mahogany table. At the sound of my iPhone hitting the wood, Cell glances up and flashes me a smirk.
"What's the news?"

"Hm? Oh. Just Blackboard notifying me. Class canceled."

"Forreal? That one psychology class today?"

"Yup." I lean over and purr in a low voice, "More time to spend with you, daddy."

All canines contrasts his dark skin as his lips moves from ear to ear. "Shit. I like that."

Like clockwork, my phone buzzes the table again. I shoot for a grab and unlock my phone before it catches Cell's attention.

"Ik... i'm hip i fucked up. i need to talk to you."

I suck on my teeth inaudibly and bounce my fingers onto the keyboard. "We talking right now, aren't we?"

Not long after I look away from my phone, a text vibrates my hand. I scrutinized the message.
"no bro you know what i mean. come over."

I take in my breath. What is there to possibly talk about?

Me: I'm on a date rn. Bye.

T: with who?!

Me: None of your mf business.

T: you know that shit mine but imma let that nigga have his lil time for na.

Me: Um lmaooo. What exactly? Tf.

T: that pussy. that shit mine.

I roll my eyes to the back of my head.

"Diamond?"

I pick my head up to greet Cell's furrowed eyebrows and I suck in my breath.

"I didn't take you here for you to be on your phone the whole time, whoever the fuck you texting ain't that important – unless they tryna pay the bill," He gives my plate of lobster tails a slight nudge. "Eat."
