"Hey! What are you watching?"
I looked up from my phone to see my friend Lindsay standing over me. Her black glasses framed her hazel eyes and her curly brown locks fell around her sweet face. I had a break in between classes, so I'm just sitting in the café of the quiet library on campus, watching videos on my phone. I pulled out my earbuds, smiling.
"Hey! I'm just watching some videos on YouTube. Have you heard of Iris and Platinum?" It's kind of weird talking about my alternate identity like she's another person.
"Yes! They're so awesome! I love their 'Phantom of the Opera' performance." Lindsay leaned her longboard against the wall closest to the table, and took the seat next to me, looking at the device in my hands. "Is that their latest one?"
"Yep! And according to the blogpost on Daisy's Days, they're now partners for Duet Nights."
"Sweet! Let me see."
We watched the video together. Well, I pretended to. I was actually watching my friend's eyes as they lit up with amaze. Somehow, it was intriguing.
"They're so cool! I wish I could meet them." Lindsay suddenly said after the video ended.
"Right?" Oh, if you knew. . .
"Hey. What's up?" A new voice approached us. We looked up to meet Jimmy's eyes and smile.
"Oh, we're just watching the latest Platinum and Iris video." Lindsay quickly explained, excitement dripping from her voice. "Aren't they awesome?"
"Super awesome!"
"Have either of you been to the Masked Muse before?" I asked them curiously. Both of them shook their heads. "You should. It's really cool, and you might get the chance to meet them."
"That sounds great! I'm totally going tonight to see their performance in person!" Lindsay's phone suddenly started buzzing. "Whoops! I have to get to class. Catch you guys later." With her longboard and a smile, my friend left the café.
I turned back to Jimmy. "So, who do you think is better? Iris or Platinum?"
He thought for a second, stroking his chin. "Well, both of them are very talented, and good-looking in their own way. But if I had to choose one, I think it'd be Iris. She's amazing."
"Right? Every time she sings, it's like she's pouring her soul into it."
"Like she's touching your heart with the magic known as her voice."
"Exactly!" I suddenly realized that people were giving us weird looks, and immediately lowered my voice as Jimmy sat down at the table with me. "Platinum is pretty good, too."
"Yeah, he's cool. But Iris is incredible." His green eyes seemed to glisten into a far off place for a second. Star struck? Can't really blame him. Haha!
"Why don't you try coming to club tonight?"
"I would, but I'm really busy. Are you going?"
"I might. Depends on how much homework my teachers give me. I prefer to get my assignments done before the weekend, that way I can actually relax for at least one day."
"That's a good idea. You know, I never would have pegged you to be into clubs."
"I'm really not, but the Masked Muse is the one exception. With all the musical performances, it sort of became my kind of club."
"That makes sense." He glanced at his watch. "Sorry, but I should get going as well. I'll see you in class."
Jimmy stood up and waved as he left the café. I waved back. "See you."
It's strangely nice to actually know a couple of my fans.
