Chapter 4: Leaving or Staying?

Y/n's POV:

"Y/n.... Y/n!" I could hear someone calling my name out while shaking me. "5 more minutes..." I groan out still having my eyes shut and feeling tired.

"Y/N!" Someone shouted. I bolted up straight now wide awake and confused. "Huh – what?" I said dumbly. I look over to the jackass who woke me up, it was Nikki.

"What?" I asked tiredly rubbing my head and a bit pissed off. "Aren't you coming to breakfast?" she replied. "Wait, what?!" I quickly got out of bed and dash over to the entrance of the tent, looking out I see that the sun is up.

"Was all of that just a dream or something?" I just sigh and turn back to Nikki and say "Yeah, just give me a minute." She nodded in agreement and said. "I wait for you outside." And she left, it was just me myself and I alone in the tent. I walked over to the nightstand to see my stuff there looking like they never been moved last night, I grabbed them and strapped them in their places and walked out of the tent. Nikki was standing by the entrance but when I came out she started to walk in the direction of the Mess hall it didn't long for me to catch up to her, we didn't say word for a while until Nikki broke the silence. "Max told us he's giving you a choice to stay or leave."

"So, all that really did happened." I didn't say anything so she continued "So, are you staying?" I thought for a moment, I do want to stay but... "I think it's better if I leave. I don't want to cause more problems for you guys." I honestly said to her. I don't want them to meet the same faiths as the others because of me.

"Oh, we were really hoping you would stay" Nikki said sadly. "Why?" I asked her. Why would they want me to stay in the place? "To be honest Y/n, ever since you came here you seemed to have somehow lighten everyone up, had them put into better moods than they have ever been in a long time, you made everyone smile even Max!" She kind of shouted on the last part. "When did I do that?" I asked not remembering when I did it.

"In the Mess hall at dinner! Y/n, you made us feel like we're ourselves again. Who we were before all this shit happened and I thank you for that." I was speechless, I didn't know I could make them feel like this when I'm here for once in 2 years I don't know what to say or to think, I just stared at her not realizing we're at the doors of the Mess hall. We walk inside the Mess and see that everyone's here eating their food.

Me and Nikki grabbed our foods and found a table to sit at and chat for a bit. We were chatting about random stuff when Neil and Max walked over to us. "Made your choice yet?" Max asked me. "I'm leaving." I answered. He nodded his in understanding and turned to Neil.

"Go tell Nurf to get her weapons and meet us at the gates after breakfast while I take care of another matter." Max commanded to Neil. Neil nodded and walked off to Nurf while Max walked out of the Mess hall, me and Nikki just looked at each other wondering what this little matter Max is taking care of but we let it go knowing it could be anything.

---------- Little time skip -------------

I am at the gates waiting with Nikki, Neil, Nerris and a few others who wanted to say goodbye for Nurf and Max. A minute later we saw Nurf and Max coming up, Nurf holding my M4 and bow with some more arrows and Max carrying a duffle bag, I think that's what their called? Nurf came up to me and headed my weapon while also holding out his hand for shake, I shake his hand and he went to stand next the others. Now, it was Max turn to come up to me. "Here, I'm giving you some of our supplies for where ever the fuck you are going." He said holding out the bag, I accepted it as I thank him. "If you change your mind you can come back, alright?" He said. I nodded debating whether or not I should stay. We both shake hands before I started walking out of the gates, I looked back to them see... expression like they had just lost someone close, I turn back looking ahead of me speeding up my walk a little bit. "I can't stay or they'll end like them because of me! I can't turn back!" My pace became slow before coming to a complete stop. "I can't! I...I......"
