When I woke up that morning, it was the same as any other.

The shrill sound of my mother pulling me from my peaceful slumber, "Ellie, come on. You need to get up now."

"But I don't wanna." Was my usual mumbled reply, but instead I had said, "Okay." And got up, looking back now that's when the day started to have obvious changes. My mother had a tone in her voice that made me want to listen, it wasn't strict though... More, sickly sweet.

When I went to they bathroom to shower, I wasn't shoved out of the way by my brother so he could attend to his hair. His hair was his pride and joy, I hid his hair gel once and he flipped out massively.

Once out of the shower I returned to my 'smart clothes' out neatly on my bed, that's when I started to pick up on the small things that were happening. The clothes, that of which I had thrown across my room around three weeks ago after my Grandma's birthday, had been washed, ironed and then laid on my bed.

"This is strange..." I remember muttering before grudgingly pulling up my skirt, I hated it to be honest. Skirts have never agreed with me, either they're too long and the right width or the right length and too wide. If girls rolled their skirts up at school even the slightest bit to make them the right height... BAM! Instant red detention from Mrs Argant!

Instead of the usual sound of the toaster popping, the frustrated mumbles from my father about not being able to find his keys or Lance (My brother) calling me annoying nicknames, I was greeted by a plate of pancakes. Fresh or Store bought, it didn't matter. All I thought was, 'What's going on today?'

My thoughts were finally answered when my mother snapped me out out of my daze, "Ellie, we have something to tell you."

"Believe us Honey, it's the last thing we wanted t-"

"They're bootin' you off to summer school sucker!" Lance interrupted my father speaking before laughing manically.

"Summer school? Why?" I knew why, I'd been lacking in all classes for the whole term. My grades varied from a fail to the magnificent... Bare minimum.

"Because you're stupid, duh." Lance smirked, at least he did until my mother whacked the back of his head, "Ow, Mum..."

"It's really for the best Ellie, you'll fit right in. Mrs Jones from my book club is sending her kids there, I'm sure you'll become friends really quickly."

"Wait, Jones? As in Tyler and Mia Jones?" Why would they be going to summer school? They are the smartest, and some of the most popular, kids at school.

"I believe that's her children's names." My mother nodded slowly, "Do you know them?"

"Not personally, I know of them-"

"Everyone knows The Jones Mum! They're the most known kids at school, but that Mia she is-" He made is hand form an 'o' and nodded appreciatively, "She is, in the words of Grandma, one spicy enchilada."

"I'll make sure to tell her." I laughed, "My brother says you're a spicy enchilada."

"Don't you dare El." Lance's eyes narrowed slightly, "We all know you fancy Tyler so don't even try."

"I do not 'fancy Tyler'!" I mimicked his voice

"You so do."

"Do not."

"Do."

"DO NOT!"

"DO DO DO!"

"That's enough both of you!" My father snapped us out of our routine sibling debate of the day, "Ellie, hurry up and eat your breakfast. Then pack everything you need as quick as possible."

I got handed a sheet, "This is everything you need." My mother explained

Grabbing the sheet, I sat down and stared at my breakfast. "Lance, you want any?"

"Hell yeah!" As Lance walked past he grabbed the top pancake and took a bite, "Aw'l be in ma rwoom." He said with a mouthful of food.

"That's disgusting." I mumbled before taking a bite of my remaining pancakes, "Mmmm, they're delicious."

After I had eaten the rest, I went up stairs with the itinerary list in hand. I scanned the list:

• 14 pairs of socks
• 2 undergarments
• 14 items of underwear
• Morning/day attire
• A raincoat
• Walking shoes
• Evening attire
• Special event attire

"No one will know me there..." I whispered before a plan started to form in my head. 'I've been meaning to do this for a while, I can introduce myself as him.'
