"Sullivan Anthonio"
I panicked as I heard my name being mentioned. I had not really prepared for the occasion. Sydney, my girlfriend signed me up for it. The Arts and Drama contest. My only way to get into Hollywood and also be recognized as a writer and a man of literature.
I walked into the audition room to meet two gentlemen and a lady. They all had stern looks on their faces. I was number 1024 and the auditions has been going on for the past three days. I could feel the tension in the air. I flashed a quick smile which was not returned.
"Sonnet 16- Shakespeare"
Sonnet 16- Shakespeare? What the heck? I knew such auditions were not easy but I didn't expect them to be this difficult. How on earth am I suppose to say sonnet 16 off head. I remember a few words.
"Mr. Sullivan?"
"Sorry, was trying to recollect."
"Get it over and done with."
"Immediately!"
"But wherefore do not you a mightier way
Make war upon this bloody tyrant time
And fortify yourself in your decay
................................................
To give yourself away, keeps yourself still
And you must live drawn by your sweet skill"
I made quite a lot of mistakes and got corrected along the way. I was sweating profusely. It was a hell treatment.
"Quite a lot of pressure there."
I just smiled.
"Why waste time Lily, yellow. Now out!"
That was a blow to me. Yellow? I can hardly get in with a yellow.
"Why were you so harsh, Jay?"
"Lily, that boy lacks talent. We need talented people. He is not a man of arts and drama."
"I see talent in him, Jay."
"Louis, are you also going to support Lily"
"Who's next?"
"Rihanna Carter!"
I heard the conversation as I leaned on the wall broken hearted. Rihanna Carter came to pass by me full of confidence and beauty but right now, that wasn't my priority,
"Lilly, that boy lacks talent. We need talented people. He is not a man of arts and drama."
Those words kept pouncing in my brain. It was painful. Sydney will be very disappointed in me. I needed to wait for the final results on Friday. Where the twenty people who qualified will be announced on international TV and Sydney is going to find out I was a failure.
Friday........8:00pm........Crescent TV
Presenter: Good evening band welcome to another season of the Gamut where arts and literature is manifested on stage. This year, we have 21 contestants who are going to battle it out over the next few months to find who is fit to stay in Hollywood. With talents from all over America and the world. Welcome. I am Kristen Parker and I am going to be your host. Now let's meet our contestants in an order of merit.

That hit me by surprise. I jumped out of my seat and run to my phone.
Me : Sydney,I made it
Sydney: I know babe, I just heard your name. It's amazing. Me: I know, I know I think I need to take you out to make up for it.
Sydney: Tomorrow night, Lord Plaza, 8:00pm
Me: kisses
I couldn't stop myself from smiling. This was the best news in ages. I had been waiting for this day for so long a time. Now my works are not going to be locked up in my bag. The whole world is going to find out who Anthonio Sullivan is .
We were to report at the Arts and drama house in two weeks. The details were going to be sent to my mail. It was so amazing. Me in a fancy house. I just couldn't imagine me on TV. An international TV. My family will see me and be proud. I have not wasted my life.
