A day away

It was official. The party was only a day away. We were extremely nervous about it but also excited. I still didn't know why my mom was making such a big deal out of the party. I had a feeling that she knew but that could just be my mind playing tricks on me again. Anyways, the night before was all a blur because we stayed up so late. Although, I did have a crush on another girl but I didn't want to tell her because I knew she would be devastated. I loved Mia very much. The day before the party was practice only day. We ran through the whole thing what seemed like two million times. Again, my mom called me all excited about this party for some odd reason. She said that she couldn't wait for the party because something was gonna go down. I think she knows. She was always the extremely accepting type of mom. Of course, she also might be mad since me and Mia have been hiding it for two months. She hates secrets. And so do I, but if it's a relationship that i don't need her knowing about, then I will keep it a secret. The party was a bonfire on the beach with a sunset surfing contest. Luckily, everyone knew how to surf. And the party was Paranoia fuel for me because my other girl crush ended up showing up. And she won the surfing competition in first place, I came in second, and my girlfriend came in third. We danced by the fire a little bit, messing around with sparklers.

Me and Mia then realized that we had to say it. We were scared of saying it in front of everyone, but we did it anyway. We spent a few minutes of preparation for the whole thing. We made it really elaborate and kinda went all out on this. It was an hour before the party was over, so we knew we didn't have much time to waste. There was a karaoke stage at my party, so it was the perfect spot to do it. After we set everything up, it was time. We put rainbow flags into the goodie bags while no one was looking, and got up on the stage and got everybody's attention.
