Season 2 was great
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The silence in Clay's empty house had given him the opportunity to sit back and listen to more of the tapes. Not that he really wanted to, but he knew that he needed answers. Her voice wrapped around his room like a breeze through an open window and he felt his heart ache with her words. The way her voice shook and how she stopped to take a breath if she got too emotional made lumps form in his throat nearly causing him to cry. His hands instinctively reached for his phone so that he could call Tony, but he stopped himself not wanting to bug the other teen.
"You made me paranoid, Tyler, so now I'm giving that to you. Maybe I'll never know why you did what you did, but I can make you understand how it felt to be me. That's why I'm outside your window, Tyler. And after people hear this, I bet I won't be the only one."
Clay stood up not sure what he was doing anymore. He stopped the tape and slipped on a sweater his heart racing. He put the Walkman in his pocket and made his way out of his house locking the door behind himself. He hopped on his bike and started peddling as fast as his legs would let him. The sun was setting make it hard for him to navigate where he was going, but that didn't stop because soon enough he was in front of Tyler's house.
The lights were off except for one and he knew that that was Tyler's room. He stood behind the conveniently placed bush and dropped his bike next to himself as he crouched. He put his headphones on and clicked play once again now watching the inside of Tyler's window. Hannah's voice rang in his ear almost willing him to do something. He could see the cracks in the window yet he had to do something else to get Hannah's point across.
Tyler stepped into the room with a towel wrapped around his waist and Clay knew this was his chance. Hannah's voice was louder and his heart was pounding faster than before. He brought his phone out and the second the towel dropped Clay snapped a photo. He grabbed his bike and sprinted away from the house with a now nude photo of Tyler on his phone. He didn't know whether to feel victorious or ashamed of getting the picture, but his next instinct was to send it to everyone at school anonymously which is exactly what he did.
He let out a laugh of disbelief as he rode off without a look back.
Tony grabbed his phone from his pocket the buzzing distracting him from the car he was working on. It was a text from an unknown number. He was going to ignore it except there was an attachment with the text that caught his attention. He opened the text and to his surprise, it was a photo of Tyler's bare ass.
He frowned before locking his phone and getting back to work. His father had been breathing down his back all day and he just couldn't catch a break from anyone these past couple of days. If he could he would most likely go home and never leave his room, but ever since the tapes came out it was nearly impossible for him to keep to himself.
"Mijo, your mother wants you home soon." His father spoke up from under the car he was working on.
"I'm almost done." Tony hummed not looking away from his own car.
The silence in the garage would've been unsettling if he didn't know his father, but he knew his dad was thinking about the work he was doing. He pulled on the last piece that needed fixing and shut the hood of the car and let out a sigh. His hands ached and oil stained a majority of his upper arms along with some spots on his cheeks. Tony let out a groan as he stretched his bones cracking in the process. If he hadn't felt old before he definitely did now.
"Be careful getting home." His dad mumbled.
"You're not coming with?" He grabbed a rag and started wiping his hands.
"I have a couple more clients and I have to close." His dad sounded distant like his thoughts were elsewhere.
Tony only hummed before peeling off his overalls and heading towards the door. His car was parked just outside and he felt relief wash over him. He knew it was too late to do anything else but go home, but a part of him just wanted to check on Clay and make sure he wouldn't make even more of a mess. Maybe he already did, Tony wouldn't doubt him not even for a second.
He entered his car and let out a heavy sigh not wanting to move just yet. His head pounded with a headache and his hands ached from work. Lately, he just hadn't been feeling well and he could tell that his family was starting to notice or more likely his mother was starting to notice. He hated how easily she could read him sometimes and yet a small part of him was glad that someone had noticed he wasn't truly himself after Hannah's incident.
Tony sighed and started his car with a flick of his wrist. At first he was driving towards his home but as the ride went on he realized he was going towards Clay's house. He debated on turning back but decided he needed someone to talk to and maybe Clay could be that person for him. As he pulled to Clay's house he found himself growing calm just at the thought of being with Clay. He smiled and dialed Clay's number waiting for the other boy to answer.
"Hello?" Clay answered after the second ring.
"Hey, can I come by?" Tony questioned.
"Yea, but come around the back my parents are sleeping." Clay hummer and Tony smiled.
"Okay I'm coming up." Tony shut off his car and slipped out of the car.
"You were outside already?" He could hear amusement in Clay's tone.
"Maybe." Tony chuckled and hung up before Clay could question him further.
He made his way to the back being as quiet as he possibly could. He jumped the gate and crossed the yard without alerting the neighbors. The back door opened revealing Clay who was smiling at him like he was the only person in the world. Tony smiled back nearly at the door when he tripped over a flower pot and landed directly in the grass. He let out a loud grunt as the dirt covered his shirt and hands. Clay let out a soft laugh before rushing over to help Tony up.
"Are you okay?" Clay helped him up and Tony let out an airy chuckle.
"Better now that you're here." Tony tried to be smooth but Clay could see right through it.
"Come on, let's get you cleaned up." Clay held onto Tony even though he was standing perfectly fine.
"Yeah, yeah, okay." Tony stared into Clay's eyes his legs suddenly feeling like jelly.
Clay nodded and they made their way into the house as quietly as they possibly could. Tony bumped into Clay causing the other boy to nearly fall over. He only laughed before quieting himself down. Something about Tony made him want to be himself. They finally reached Clay's bedroom and both boys dropped onto Clay's bed in a quiet fit of laughter.
They turned to look at one another joy evident on both their faces. When they finally calmed down Tony felt his lips go dry as he realized how close they were. Clay must have felt the same because he looked down at Tony's lips not sure what to do. They laid in silence before Clay placed a gentle hand on Tony's cheek.
"Are you going to kiss me?" Tony murmured.
"Can I?" Clay looked back into Tony's eyes.
Tony nodded and Clay edged towards him his heart racing faster then he thought it would. Tony's stomach fluttered with butterflies and a blush rushed to his neck. This was what he had wanted ever since he had met Clay and he couldn't believe it was real.
