Chapter 2
-------------

Roma and Adrian were the only two people left in the room. The rest of the Alphas had left after pledging their allegiance, they would stay for a few days as guest in the palace to iron out the future of the American packs. Much of the deal would be ironed out by Roma, this was to ensure there would be no scope of dissent growing anytime soon. All the packs had lost their share of pack mates in the massacre of Colorado, that's what they were calling it, not to her face though but it was whispered, it was the name given to what happened on that fateful day in Colorado.

Adrian could not deny it. It has been a massacre, Roma had slaughtered the American wolves and those who had made it alive out that day would never forget what they had witnessed, if they had any good sense they would never think of rising against her. Her message has been brutal but clear as to what happened when you went against Roma.

With the fall of North America, the empire of Roma stood unopposed, her power never so evident and never so unchecked. The only remaining packs that were not directly under the control of Roma were Australia and Russia. Australia was a peace-loving pack and knew which battles to fight they would never go against Roma and Russia while unpredictable under crazy Ivan, that's what their alpha was often called, Ivan himself wanted to ally with Roma it was evident in all his dealings with her, however brief but he was an unknown element and while he was a formidable foe going against Roma now would be suicidal as crazy as Ivan was he sure would have to know that. They would wait and watch what their neighbor would do.

And especially with Roma at the Helm of the World Council and she controlling the governing body of the wolves around the world she would literally be untouchable and but having majority votes on her side she could continue in that role indefinitely. Not that she would want to but at least till the foreseeable future it would be foolish of her to give that power away.

But it was not all perfect and they had their own set of new challenges to deal with and as if reading his thoughts Roma interrupted.

"Adrian" she asked, "What do you think?"

"About what?" he looked confused.

"About these alphas, are they going to fall in to line?" She voiced her thoughts.

He pondered over a bit "They would be foolish not to. Most of them are Gammas from the packs, and almost all of them have been in the war, they saw what happened to their adventurous leadership. Yes, I think we don't have to worry about them stabbing us in the back for a while."

"Good" Roma sighed in agreement "one less enemy to worry about"

"Amen" Adrian echoed. Not they were short of enemies.

"Now" Roma added "We need to get to work on a few things that have been long overdue."

Adrian sat up paying attention to her

"Number one" she said putting up her finger "I want a task force formed to get Charles, he is still out that and as long as he is alive there is always a possibility he is plotting something against us. We need to find him and find him fast and then we get rid of him quickly. So, find him alive or dead I particularly don't have a preference of which it is as long as he is found."

"Agreed" he nodded readily "But shall we not capture him? Understand his motives?" Adrian asked.

"Would that change the outcome? Regardless of his reasons however valid they might be, he is a threat, so let's make it easy on everyone and take him out. If you are able to capture him alive do it but don't take a chance." Roma ordered.
