months passed by, chaesol finally didn't feel conscious with jisung's presence and got used to it.
but she couldn't adjust with the class. she was too weak in studies, let's not even talk about sports. she could barely pass any subject. moreover, being the introvert she is, she would be really quiet in the class which made most teachers target her for answering in front of the class, her not being able to answer would make the fellow students whisper among themselves. everyone in her class was intelligent and good at sports which made her feel inferior. all of these lead to her having no friends beside heejin. maybe everyone thinks that i am strange, she thought.
she heard from jisung's bench partner that he often makes fun of her when she gets the answer wrong in math class or says not really nice stuff about her most of the time. it did break her heart initially, but somehow she let it go.
one day it was a free period and chaesol was reading a book, in front of her were jisung sitting with his friends, she raised her head for a moment to look at the class clock but instead witnessed jisung staring at her, and she could've sworn that he did not look away even when she lowered her head down.
15 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 whole minute, his gaze is still on her.
she couldn't hold it in anymore, she got up from her place and left the classroom.
chaesol thought she finally has a hold of her feelings, but she might be wrong. his presence DID bother her.
heejin saw chaesol outside the classroom, "what are you doing here?"
"i, uh, i was going to look for you," chaesol lies, "where were you?"
"i was with hyunjin, he was helping me with maths. that reminds me, didn't you say you were facing problems with studies?"
"yeah."
"you should ask hyunjin to help you out."
chaesol laughs, "heejin, did you forget everyone dislikes me in this class?"
"no one dislikes you. and hyunjin is really nice, he would sincerely help you." heejin reassures chaesol as she gently holds her hand.
"if you say so."
