the walk towards home was quiet, until heejin finally asks,
"why did you say yes?"
"i just want jisung to know that his presence doesn't bother me." chaesol says, not meeting her friend's eyes.
"and it really doesn't?" heejin touches her arm.
chaesol did not know what to say. she knew the answer to question, but she wanted the answer to be something else. she wondered if she tried hard enough, to get over jisung. how could she though, after all the things he made her feel. her first love, the first time she ever felt this way for someone, the first time she cared about someone else more than her own self.
"it's been three years, chaesol."
heejin speaks up again, breaking the silence.
three years, chaesol thought. three years since all of that mess happened.
