sunwoo insisted that he taught chaesol instead of hyunjin and that's how chaesol passed grade 11.
since she never asked hyunjin to help her with math, the two of them barely talked throughout the year, even though they had tons of common friends including heejin.
the only time hwang hyunjin and chaesol interacted were when she needed help in the computer lab while making presentations.
in one year chaesol improved in studies, made more friends. she would often hang out with heejin, go yujin and lee chaeyeon.
in grade 12th, the classes shuffled. heejin and chaeyeon were still with chaesol, in class 12-A, while hyunjin, sanha and yujin were in 12-C.
heejin, chaeyeon and chaesol would visit 12-C everyday to meet yujin, and being close with yujin, jisung and hyunjin would always be around her.
that's how everyday the six of them would hang out everyday and eventually became closer.
that's how hyunjin and chaesol started conversing.
chaesol realised that hyunjin, just like heejin said, is actually a really nice guy.
it was a chilly weather that day, heejin and hyunjin were freezing as they were on their way to pick chaesol up so they could go to school together. when they reached her home, chae was already standing outside, waiting for them. the bitterly cold weather coloured her cheeks and nose crimson.
heejin waddled towards her, "why are you out? you should've waited inside!"
"i just came out don't worry." chaesol reassures her friend.
the concerned expression of heejin does not change though, she rubs her hands together and places it on chaesol's cheeks.
the shorter girl chuckles.
"let's go" says hyunjin, and the three of them leave for school.
the day had just started and chaesol could barely concentrate in class. she either sniffled or put her head down. her nose was stuffy and her head was aching. at that moment she realised she shouldn't have waited outside, that too without wearing a thick jacket.
during break time, she stayed back while her other friends were going to the cafeteria.
heejin obviously was really upset, and nagged at her for not wearing warm clothes for a good 10-15 minutes.
heejin wanted to stay back to take care of her best friend but chae insisted that she wants to rest for sometime alone.
she put her head down and closed her eyes after heejin left. she felt something warm on her back, opening her eyes, she saw hyunjin. he had placed a thick jacket on her.
"here," hyunjin smiles as he hands the girl some tissues.
chaesol smiles back and takes the tissues.
"you didn't go to the cafeteria with the others?" she asks.
"i was going but i thought that I should just give you this jacket and then leave."
"thanks, hyunjin."
hyunjin fidgets with his fingers, "chaesol, can i ask you something?"

I am so sorry it's been nine chapters but there's still no progress in the protagonists relationship and the book is going at a very slow pace plus most of these are filler chapters, I'm really sorry I will try harder to make this story more interesting and update more 🤧
