Angels POV
"Hey gurl you okay?" shouted Kayla from the lockers. She came up to me skipping. I love Kayla to bits and I've known her since year 2. She has a petite frame and dark brown hair with matching dark brown eyes. She always tells me how jealous she is of my blue-green eyes but I really don't see why. Shes quite short for a 18 year old I've always been known to be the tall one at 5ft 7.
We went to the same tuition and then she stopped in year 5 without any warning. But then we met again, on the first day of Secondary School. Just a little warning she tends to get upset quite easily; everyone in their little friendship group does but we're still really good friends. And me, I'm not really in a friendship group. I'm close friends with basically everyone in our form.
"Heyy babe, I'm good" I said as she pulled me into a hug even though I met her yesterday. She was a very 'huggy' person.
"OMG OMG OMG DID I TELL YOU ABOUT THE NEW FIFTH HARMONY ALBUM" she screamed into my ear as I let go of her.
"Yes Kayla" I sighed shaking my head. "You messaged me and you called me then you tweeted me and then you-"
"SO DID YOU HEAR IT?" She scream cutting me off.
"No Kayla and I already told you I-"
"like good music" I was interrupted again by someone else. My closest friend.
I laughed and nodded. I liked fifth harmony but Kayla is quite the fangirl and if I gave her any indication I liked them she would never shut up about it
"Hey Gav"
"Hey Angel, you ready for first period?" Gavin asked. I'm not going to lie he was a very good looking guy. We had little relationship in year 12 (secret from my parents) but soon ended it not wanting it to damage our friendship
"Yup" I replied. I went up to him and took his hand so we could get away from Kayla's craziness. "Bye Kaylaaa"
"BYE FOR NOW BUT THIS IS NOT THE LAST YOU WILL HEAR OF THIS" She shouted back.
I laughed and let go of Gavin's hand. He was quite muscular for his age and had the same eyes as me. He had wavy brown hair and very light stubble on his cheeks.
"How's your dad?" he asked.
Gavin knows about everything going on so I don't ever feel the need to sugarcoat anything for him.
"I haven't met him since last week. You know about my mum. She stays with him most of the time and she has told me I should stay away from him for a few days since I'm the one caused it" I shook my head and looked at the ground. If I had a best friend it was definitely Gavin. I could tell him anything and rant on and he would give me an honest answer.
"Its not because of you" He stopped walking and turned me around so I was facing him. "I'm going to take you to meet him after school"
"But Ga-"
"No, your parents won't see me I promise and your Mum won't say anything to you in front of your Dad" Gavin argued.
My parents are of Pakistani/Afghani descent. They adopted me when I was little. They raised me under strict conditions. I wasn't to wear anything revealing or to have any guy friends so naturally my parents don't know about Gavin
"But what about when I go home? Gav she'll hit me and I-"
"Stay at mine Angel! Please don't do this to yourself! I know not seeing your dad kills you so don't do this to yourself!"
"As if my mum will let me stay over at someones house let alone a boy!" I said.
"You need to get away from your mum! you're 18 nearly 19! you can make your own decisions! Anyway it's not like you're leaving her! you can meet her and everything! Think about it!"
The bell rings ending our discussion. We sit at the back of our english class.
I've always loved reading. It's my get away, my favourite place away from all this tension
"Sense and sensibility. A great novel..." The class went on with my teacher's tedious voice. All I could think about is what Gavin had said
