"He needed what every passionate man needs," I answered Gavin, with a small smirk.
"And what would that be?" He asked with furrowed eyebrows.
"WiFi"
He chuckled shaking his head and started the car. The car ride consisted of small talk, Ed Sheeran, Eminem,Nirvana and Greenday.
He parked the car near the back of the parking lot.
Gavin's POV
Angel fiddled with her fingers as we parked the car. I knew she was worried and she had every right t be.
"Let's go," I said to her
I got out the car and quickly ran to the other side to open her door.
She smiled and hugged me.
"Thank you,"
"No need to thank me for opening you door," I chuckled.
"Not for that," she said "For everything,"
Angels POV
I pulled away from the hug and he took my hand walking inside the hospital.
We silently walked to ITU and he let go of my hand after giving it a assuring squeeze.
I smiled and hugged him again before walking in. I knew where my Dad was from when I saw him before. I walked towards his bed. Seeing the lonely, elderly patients broke my heart. But there was one in general that I had met and talked to before. Mrs Gallagher. She was such a sweetheart. Always talking to me about her small family and her daughter and grandsons.
I passed her bed and saw the curtains pulled around so i figured the nurses were cleaning her up.
But three beds away the curtain was pulled back. And on it laid my father. My dad with millions of tubes going through his body.
"Angel," my mothers voice pulled me out my stare. "I wasn't expecting you," i could basically hear the hidden hatred through her words
"I was free so i thought i should come,"
My dad smiled. Well he smiled as much as he could in the position he was in.
"How have you been?" i asked him to get a thumbs up in response. I ignored my mother's glare. My dad had a small sheet with the alphabet to spell out his words to carry our conversation.
Seeing him like that broke my heart but i had to smile for him. We 'spoke' for about half an hour until my mother decided too :
"Angel, I need you outside for a moment" she randomly said.
I got up and went outside without a word to have her follow me closely.
"What the fuck do you think you're doing here?" she said
"Meeting my father," I said. Gavin was sitting in the waiting room right next to where we spoke and i hoped he heard nothing of mine and my mothers conversation.
"Why, what do you want now? For him to die?" She spoke with so much hatred it made a few tears appear. I don't know why she said that but she did.
"She wants him to get better" i closed my eyes as I recognised the very familiar voice.
"Who are you?" My mother asked
"Angel's best friend. Gavin" He replied sternly. "And just to let you know. She's staying with me now on."
"No she isn't" my mother replied. I stood there silently not knowing what to say.
"Trust me. She is,"He said. "Angel, you want to go say bye to your dad?" he asked
I nodded and head back inside the ITU. I 'hugged' my dad as well as i could without moving any tubes.
Before I headed outside I wanted to go say bye to Mrs Gallagher.
"Hello there," Mrs Gallagher smiled.
" Hello Mrs Gallagher, how are you?"
"Good, good" she smiled. I knew she wasn't. I felt so bad I couldn't sit with her and talk. I really loved hearing her stories.
"I got to go Mrs G, my friend is waiting outside,"
She nodded and I hugged her rubbing her back. She could be considered the mother figure in my life.
I headed outside to see my mother and Gavin arguing. I went to Gavin and dragged him away without another word to my mother.
