I walked with my father, getting looks and stares from other parents or guardians and obvious gazes from young to old children.

We reached the doors of the building, as soon as it opened, a rush of cool air conditioning waved against us, "Hello, welcome." The woman behind what I assumed was the receptionist desk had welcomed me and my father.

"Ampora," my father simply replied, giving the last name. "You must be Mr. Ampora," she smiled, pointing it out like some annoying toddler, he nodded, letting go of my hand, making me relieved that I didn't have to stretch it anymore.

My father waved a goodbye before leaving out of sight. I wasn't worried nor afraid, simply to put it as, I was too confident for my age.

The woman took my hand, "come on Cronus, it's time to meet the others," she disguised her tiredness with a fake joyful voice.

I arrived to where I believed was an oval shaped rug, where most children sat in idle, knowing nothing but words of utter stupidity I believed.

Another adult sat in the circle of children, surrounded on both sides by two kids. One being an unusually smaller toddler, he doesn't seem to be even the age where he could communicate easily, I wonder.

His skin was brown but fair, making me assume he was Latino since my father had mentioned his friend being one. The kid's hair was a rich dark brown, making it look like he had black instead of brown, his eyes were fainted red like stained glass in a church.

He wore a long sleeved shirt and pants, it's summer for Pete's sake!

The other boy on the side seemed to be more energetic and unkept, his hair being wild and knotted covering his eyes, his skin lightly olive. He wore short sleeved, black and yellow patterned shirt and some cargo shorts.

I sat down in a space, "Alright everyone! My Name is Mrs.Leijon Vantas, Call me Mrs.Leijon for short," she introduced herself, sounding lively and full of energy.

"This is Ms.Porrim, say hello,"She pointed to the girl wearing a black tank top and a jade short skirt.

Her skin was a dark tan, fitting close with her jaded eyes, she wore tons of makeup, making her look so unnaturally pretty. I had a silly little crush on her ever since until I started middle school. I listened since I had nothing to gawk about, until it was time to do some activities that were very unexciting but fun to do.

I was paired up with the Latino boy, I had no idea why. "Excuse me but, don't you think he's too young to vwork vwith me?" I asked, pointing at him like he did something wrong, Ms.Porrim started to hold herself from laughing aloud,"He's 6 years of age," Ms.Leijon informed me.

Oh, oh.

He looked at me, this short boy is older than me? "Excuse me but you shouldn't think I'm younger just cause' I'm smaller than you!"He was offended, speaking loudly so that the entire kindergarten heard.

"Sorry," I mumble, looking at his shoes, noticing how his are actual boots instead of shoes or crocs.

We went on with our little activity, hardly giving any contact and simply doing the task, only touching once or twice to give the other something for the project.

☁︎★☁︎

Even after, we remained without contact until actual school started, where our fathers met up to a parent teacher meeting with the first year, making us both come along and sit in a room with each other.

Most of the children who actually came were all grouped into one room, with at least one adult. They looked more like a teenager, with their eyes glued onto their phone and casual lean against the wall.

I had moved myself onto a small table, which had other children sitting there as well. An assortment of colouring in sheets and crayons were sprawled out across the table, the crayons being either broken or having their own cover ripped off.

One kid had caught my interest, which was a familiar looking latino boy with messy, uncombed colossal of hair. It was actually quite long, giving him a much more feminine look to his appearance.

I was the first to speak, "Hi,vwhat's yur' name?"I asked him, using the most normal conversation starter. I looked at him and noticed how much he changed in his looks, he gained small freckles on his cheeks and on the bridge of his nose, his hair became more puffy and his eyes a slightly more saturated red. He still wore long sleeved shirts and pants, but now with actual shoes instead of boots.

"Hello, if I can remember, your name is Cronus?"he asked.

Woah, his sentences were like talking to an adult who's more sophisticated than my dad.

I simply nod, staring at him and admiring how he looks.

"Um...?" He hummed into a question, catching me in my gaze.I looked away before answering him."Oh, Swvorry...." I rubbed the palm of my hand with my other hand's thumb.

He chuckled, "You said that last time," he remarked. I didn't remember this boy, or anything that we would have done together in the past, so I had a dumbfounded expression.

He started giggling,"Don't you remember me?" he asked in between giggles. "No? Sorry..." responded in a sad tone, not really recognising any of his features.

"Oh, well then, I am Kankri, I already know your name cause' we bumped in kindergarten," He explained, I started to vaguely remember, not really remembering much.

"Oh!" I exclaimed in realisation.

We laughed together in unison, causing the other kids to look at us like we had just stumbled into the wrong restroom.

Even before I had to leave, we shared a hug and a "See you soon".

Which was never actually kept.
