Chapter 7:

"Ashley where are you?" I heard Justin stomp through my kitchen sometime after eleven that night. I yelped having forgotten he was coming over, I hadn't been able to focus on much of anything for the passed half hour. I was lying on my floor currently over come by pain. I had been feeling aches in my limbs all day however I had foolishly disregarded it assuming I had just been tired. After I got home I was proved wrong when I was walking across my bedroom to the window to look out to see if I could spot anything lurking in the woods and never made it. My entire body shut down and I dropped like I weighed a ton. Something inside me was changing, I was terrified wondering if this was in fact the end for me. Is this what death felt like I wondered to myself before mustering all my strength I dragged myself to my bed. "Hey." Justin threw my door open smiling widely it didn't last though, "are you okay?" His eyes went wide and he backed away from me hitting his back against the wall as he tried to distance himself from me. I shook my head violently unable to find my voice beneath each pang, I winced in pain squeezing my eyes shut the world becoming suddenly unbearable to even look at. "open your eyes." Justin commanded me furious with petrified fear, immediately I complied and was faced with a mirror he had positioned to face me so I could see my eyes were lit up and glowing bright enough to seemingly illuminate the forest. "what's going on with you?"

"I don't know." I whimpered all thoughts flooding from my mind replaced with abject terror, another jolt of pain shot through me, this one was stronger than the others had been unable to stand it any longer I let out a blood curdling screamed, "please, help me!" I cried out gripping the comforter of my bed and ripping it in agony.

"The hospital?" Justin suggested still refusing to come near me his fear growing rapidly.

"Call 911, call my parents, call Declan I don't care!" My voice curdled in a screech like no noise I had ever made before I made an attempt to calm myself to get a grip on the pain, once more I glanced towards the mirror and was met with an image of myself I was not familiar with as my vision fogged and I began to lose sight of reality.

"The Thompson's!" Justin looked towards me with hope glowing in his eyes as he discovered an idea. "I'll go get Lilith, she mentioned something to me about being a nurse."

"Go! Hurry!" I begged feeling bile rise in my throat from the unstoppable agony, not a moment later Justin had charged out of my room and ran from my house his foots steps heavy like thunder as he went. I laid back on my bed and pulled myself towards the table beside it and glanced to the clock as it ticked a moment passed midnight. I screamed out then louder than I had before as a tearing sensation overwhelmed my ligament. I heard my bones cracking around me, and I knew this was the death blow, the sound of clothes ripping echoed through my room, I could feel myself getting larger it was an unbearable suffocating feeling as though my flesh was swelling around me and in a few moments I would burst like a balloon. The sensation of my skull shattering rocked my body and I screamed out again. I saw my clothes shed around me and the bed, the harder I gripped the comforter the more I tore it apart and in one last moment of pain everything changed and I could no longer mange to wrap my fingers around the comforter. In that moment my very life force was altered. My sense of smell was more keen, as well as my hearing abilities. I could hear Justin's footsteps leaving my house to get me help. My body was no exception, without looking at myself I could feel that I was no longer human somehow. The pain ceased suddenly and I was left with only the memory of the trauma and throbbing limbs. I began to crawl forward prettified to see a mirror but not able to support whatever had happened to me I toppled to the floor. Standing up on all fours, four paws my gaze was trapped in the mirror. I was not there however, white fur shimmered in the moonlight shining through my window, my eyes gleamed purple and I was face to face with a hulking wolf. One that resembled the wolf I had seen in the woods, in the way that I was larger than any wolf should be. I was a beast. I attempted to scream however I was thwarted by an incredible howl that emanated from me and could reach the mountains it was so powerful.
