When I see Ryan, he is gaping at me with his jaw wide open.

"Wow," he breaths. "You look... beyond gorgeous."

"As do you." I say, smiling extra wide.

He extends his arm. "Shall we?"

I loop my arm through his "We shall."

Still giggling, we arrive at the restaurant.

It is a gorgeous, French restaurant with candle lit tables, and elegant furnishings everywhere.

Ryan plops down in his chair without pulling mine out for me.

Hmmm. That's weird.

The waiter comes over and hands us two rich velvet menus.

"Can I get any drinks started for you?" The waiter says with a fresh smile.

"Yes please. I'll have a lem-"

"Get me a sprite." Ryan says totally interrupting me.

"Ma'am for you?" The waiter says giving me an apologetic look.

"I'll have a lemonade. Thanks." I say glancing at Ryan, and he's, what? He's texting!

"Eh. Hem."

He doesn't even look up from his phone.

"Whatcha doin'?" I ask casually.

"Texting." He says, eyes still glued to his phone.

"Oh. I'm sorry. Am I boring you?" I say getting impatient.

"Wow. Take it easy." Ryan scoffs.

"Have you ever even been on a date before?" I ask sarcastically.

"Um. Have you seen me? Of course I have. I think I know what I'm doing." He brags.

"Well, you're being a jerk, and frankly, a girl would be crazy to let a guy treat her like this."

The waiter sets our drinks down.

"Fine. I'm sorry. Let's go somewhere quieter to get to know each other. It's too loud in here." Ryan suggests.

I decide against my better judgement and give him another chance.

We pick up our drinks and walk out to the pool side.

"Ah. Much better." He says sliding down into a chair.

No one is out here.

"So," he says patting the chair next to him. "Where are you from?"

I ease myself onto the chair next to him and he turns to face me.

"California." I say picking at my nail polish. "What about you?"

"Florida. Born and raised." He chimes.

"It's beautiful down there." I add.

"You know what else is beautiful?" He says placing a hand on my knee, slowly but surely sliding it up my thigh.

"Don't do that." I say sternly.

"Oh c'mon." He says pulling me closer. "Lighten up." He whispers in my ear sending an unwanted shiver down my spine.

I try to pull away when he places a palm on my ass and squeezes.

I jump up, and without thinking, I throw my sour lemonade into his eyes.

He moans, reeling backwards.

All of a sudden, he slips on the edge of the pool and goes flying in.

I cover my mouth, stifling laughter and run back to my room as he struggles to pull himself out of the pool.
