It seemed like I was waiting in that booth forever. Alayla took her sweet ole' time eating that pathetic salad and sipping her water. Her condescending looks she gave me while I ate my burger made my blood boil. There was no way that I was going to let this just slip past me now. I just had to come up with a way to talk to Roman alone about his obsessive girlfriend.
I took my phone out of my jacket pocket and looked at my text messages. I had exactly 11 messages from Josh alone, pestering me about the devil herself, Alayla.
Josh: Reignah
Josh: Reignahh
Josh: Reignahhh
Josh: Ok so now ur gonna ignore me?
Josh: geeze, ur such a hoe.
Josh: y r u ignoring ur bff??
Josh: tell me about the she-devil.
Josh: is she hoeing around w Roman??
Josh: I wanna knowwww
Josh: I bet she'll do anything in public
Josh: ive decided that shes the hoe and ur not <3
I rolled my eyes so hard that it actually made my head hurt. I read every message he sent me twice so I could get my bearing on what I should say about the bitch herself. Without looking up from my phone, I type a message to Josh about every look and action Alayla did just to get me agitated. Which was almost anything at this point. Every facial expression, every laugh, every breath was gonna push me over the edge. Before I could stop myself, I was getting out of the booth to go call Josh in the bathroom.
"Where are you going?" Roman asked me with a concerned look on his beautiful face.
"I'm going to the bathroom to call Josh. He is going through one of his 'I need you' phases. I'll be back in, like, 10 minutes," I said making a face of sympathy for Josh's sake.
I walked into the ladies bathroom and immediately called Josh. It only rang for two seconds before he answered the phone.
"Hey, bitch. You need to spill some tea right now, honey." Josh was very invested in my feelings.
"Josh. I'm so upset right now. Alayla is making this dinner so difficult for me. All I want to do is have a nice evening out with my best friend without having any complications from the she-devil. But she is literally making my life a living hell. Every little thing I do, she always makes a face or has something smart to say about my actions and my decisions. I just want to take her outside and--"
Just as I was about to tell Josh how I was gonna finish her outside, Alayla walks into the bathroom with her hands on her hips. Her facial expression was of utter disgust and annoyance.
"So, is everything okay with Josh?" She started in on me. She was either trying to catch me in my lie or she was trying to get some dirt off of me from Josh. Josh was still on the phone and he was still asking me questions about the shit Alayla was doing to me at dinner.
"Josh is just going through a whole lot of, um, boy trouble and he needed some advice on how to, um, talk to this guy he really likes," I stumbled through my excuse as she squinted her eyes at me again. She was silently questioning every little thing I was saying to her.
"Oh, well, I can try to help with that. I have a little advice to give to Josh." She took the phone out of my hand and put it on speaker phone, "Josh? Are you there?"
"Well duh," Josh responded in his sarcastic way.
Alayla looked a little hurt but brushed it off in her own bitchy way and continued her speech, "Anyway, if this certain guy has a best friend that he is close to then you must explain to him that you are going to be the number one person in his life now. You need to jump into this relationship with full control. The best friend has to learn how to share your man. If they don't then they need to learn how to stop being such a bitch."
