"I, Scuro Raven, inchinarsi davanti al dio delle tenebre. la luce è orgoglio, ma il buio è la mia forza. il percorso dell'assassino è il vero modo di vivere. Io vivo per questo. Faccio del mio meglio. Se fallisco, io continuo ad andare. Faccio come posso per la mia fraternità per la mia fratellanza è la mia famiglia. si affidano a me per fare ciò che è giusto. grazie per avermi permesso di parlare con te, il mio grande capo..." I said to my fallen mentor and leader as I lifted my head from the small pool. The worshipping pool of the brotherhood. My mentor Wind Chaser passed away five years ago. He was on a mission to exterminate the ruler of Rome, King Phillip II. The guards found him on the roof of the place and shot him down with an arrow. I remember the day Jays' Wing ran into my house holding the script.
"Irgh.... Uh, hey are you done yet?" Matthew said sitting up from the floor of the dark cave. The clear water ripples from the pool reflected onto my face. I flipped my long black hair over my face and lifted the hood of my black robe.
"Yes, I'm ready." I breathed as I stood up and walked next to Matthew. My black boots clicked on the stone and echoed through the cave. Matthew took a torch from the wall and lead me back to the main room of the Illuminati. The whole brotherhood was built into a cave carved out of an ancient river that once flowed there.
"Greetings Scuro Raven." The short boy shook my hand as Matthew and I walked into the main room. His light brown hair hung low in his face.
"Hello Mega Star." I dipped my head at the boy.
"Has Matt told you about the mission? We're leaving for Rome in a few months." He said excitedly. I smiled.
"Yes, I heard." I said and took out my dagger. I threw it at a wooden board on the wall.
"Nice shot, Raven." A voice echoed through the cave. My smile turned into a frown and I glared as Jay entered the room.cO clenched my fists into balls as he casually walked in. His red and white robe flowed behind him as he walked over to us three. I continued to glare as he looked me in the eye and smirked.
"Meow." He said sticking his tongue out. So, I did what any irritated female assassin would do and took the sharp metal arrow tip on my elbow armor and jabbed it into his ribs. He screamed and fell onto the ground in pain. He took out his dagger and jabbed it into my ankle. I looked down at him and smiled.
"Jay, you know that does nothing to me, right?" I said as he pulled the dagger out of my ankle and glared up at me and rolled his eyes.
"No." He said standing up brushing off his robe.
"Well, I'll be heading out tonight. Anyone care to join me?" I asked pulling my dagger from the wooden board and shoving it back into a side pocket inside my robe.
"I'll join you." A small murmur sounded from a tunnel. Us four turned around and looked over and saw a small girl with blonde almost white hair. Her piercing blue eyes shined in the shadows of the cave. Her red flowing brotherhood robe hung low over her body.
"Oh, great. She's here." Muttered Jay to us four. I looked over at him and cast him a hard glare. He immediately closed his mouth and kept quiet. The girl looked down at the floor and slowly walked toward us.
"Shy Fawn, you're here." I said happily at my friend. She smiled slightly and looked up at me. "Hi." She said. Matt came over and shook her hand.
"Greetings Shy Fawn. How are you?" He said.
"I'm great! I saw a deer today! I was on my way here from my house when it walked across the path. Then, it looked up at me and walked over to me and-."
"Alright so Mega Star, Matt, Raven, what are the plans for tonight?" He said impatiently.
"Well, we could head to my place and have a few drinks." I said. "But Shy Fawn's coming with." Jay looked at me and gave me a smirk.
"I like how you think, Scuro..." I nodded. And laughed
"Never heard you say that to me before." I said as I began walking out of the room with Shy Fawn. "See you tonight, then!" I yelled as I ran out of the room with Shy Fawn towards the large wooden doors of the entrance. We walked out silently towards the city in hope of finding new victims.
"So, who are we going for tonight, Raven?" Shy fawn asked pulling out a longbow from her back. I took out my daggers and put one in each hand gasping its smooth wooden handle.
"I'm not sure. But there is a certain... someone I think we should pay a visit to." I smiled. Shy Fawn laughed.
"It's that man who didn't give you that refund for your knife that had a dull blade, isn't it? She smiled rolling her eyes. I thought a bit of that man. The greedy bastard. I had bought a throwing knife for myself and payed the merchant 4 gold coins for it. It may not sound like a lot, but it's actually sort of a lot more than it seems.
"Yeah. That bastard should've given my money back. That's one thing in the last few moments of his life he's gonna regret..." I smirked twirling my dagger in my right hand.
"I can agree. But it seems a bit harsh." She admitted.
"There's nothing harsh about it!" I snapped. Shy Fawn shrugged and walked beside me. As we approached the weapon shoppe, I put my hand in front of her. I then hoisted myself onto the roof and pulled her up with me. I jumped from roof to roof until we reached the merchants' shoppe. I went through the open window into his bedroom. Unfortunately for us, the man wad not asleep yet.
"He must still be down in his shop." I whispered to her as we swiftly and stealthily moved are way down the staircase. I slid down the staircase as quiet and fast as the breeze on the prairies on the railing. I stepped quietly onto the floor, Shy Fawn following behind. The man was sitting behind his desk not facing us counting his money. My blood hunger grew as I clutched my dagger. I pulled my hood farther up my face and signaled Shy Fawn to follow. Silently we made it behind the man. Shy Fawn nodded to me and I dipped my head in response. I grabbed the merchant by the throat and dragged him onto the ground. Shy Fawn held him firmly to the floor with her black boots as I knelt down still holding his throat. I put my knee on his chest and let is throat go. Before he could scream, Shy Fawn shoved a cloth into his mouth. I knelt closer to his ear and whispered.
"Now... We're going to make this nice and easy..." As my eyes burned with the blood lust of a murderer. I smiled and put my finger over his mouth. He was young man. Such a shame he had to die. The mans' eyes widened as I lowered my dagger over his throat. "Say your prayers, and may god have mercy on you..." I growled as I sliced my dagger through his throat. The man's eyes rolled into the back of his head and his body went limp. Blood poured from his throat over my hands. In honor of my Brotherhood, every member who kills a person must take a dab of their blood and consume it. I looked at my bloody hand a licked the blood off my index finger. The tang of the irony blood seemed so familiar to me, it barely makes me cringe anymore. I looked at Shy Fawn. "Here, you took part in this too. I said and held out my hand. She dragged her finger across my hand and licked it clean. She dipped her head and smiled mischievously.
"Wait until the boys here this!" She exclaimed and we quickly ran out of the house and back to my place.
As we walked in Jay looked up at us as he held a bottle of beer in his hand. "Successful trip, I see." I nodded and sat on my cot, grabbing my wine glass. I looked over at Matthew who was holding his glass of beer. I reached over and grabbed it from him, pouring half of it into my glass and taking an extra swig from his bottle. I handed it back to him with only a quarter of the bottle left. Mega Star laughed at me.
"Well, someone's thirsty." He muttered. I looked at him and rolled my eyes.
"It's been a long night, Schwa, ok?" I said sticking my tongue out at him. Mega Star was always known for his obnoxious comments. Later that night, everyone had crashed at my place. I was the last one awake. I looked at the ceiling and closed my eyes. One day, I'll be leading this brotherhood. I thought as I faded into black.
