1543- Nine Years Later...

I sit on my cot as I stare out at the cobblestone buildings across the stone road from my window. The pigeons on my roof coo at the dawn. The stray dogs that wander about the town bark a yelp as they chase after each other down the street. I look down at my leather satchel and pull out two iron daggers. The metallic gray blade shined in the morning light. I pull out a small handkerchief and begin to polish the blades and cleanse them of any traces of blood from my last killing. I glide my cloth across its smooth surface and all the way down to the tip. A take out a canteen of river water and pour some droplets onto the blade making it glisten. I pulled back the black hood of my robe and released my hair from it's messy bun. It draped down my back down to my waist. My purple eyes blinked gratefully as a cool breeze swept through my room.

A lay down on my cot and look over at the script that lay on my nightstand. It was the script my mother Night Shine and my father had sent me before the roman empire came and took them as slaves. "You both never should've left the brotherhood..." I muttered at the script as if it were my parents. Then I fold my hands behind my back and close my eyes, yawning. A few minutes pass before I hear the sound of the wooden floor creaking on the stairs leading to the top floor. I ignored it thinking it was just the wind making the house creak. All of a sudden, the gray curtain that hung in the entrance of my room flew open as an arrow shot through my room, just missing my shoulder. It jabbed itself into the stone wall beside me. Tied to it was a note wrapped in a blood red lace which was the color of our brotherhood.

I growled through gritted teeth and untied the lace from the note. I read the note and sighed angrily, rolling my eyes. The note said-.

"Good morning, Raven :)"

Only one person would be annoying enough to do that and scare the living Devil out of me by almost shooting an arrow through my shoulder, and that certain someone would be the great warrior of the Assassins Illuminati, none other than Jays' Wing... He may be a handful at times, sometimes a selfish bastard, but he is one of my closest friends and never regret knowing him. Sometimes I even think it's an honor to be able to know such s a guy like him..

I looked back at the curtain entrance and smiled. "You can come in now..." I murmured, carefully and silently pulling an arrow from my quiver, drawing back my bow smiling mischievously.

Jays' Wing poked his head through the door and smiled. "Hello madame." He said as he stepped forward. Before he could take another step, I let go of my arrow and it came flying out at him, bolting right past his head. Two strands of his short brown hair fell onto the ground as the arrow cut the strands free. Jay stood there in shock. "What the hell was that for?" He screamed.

"Revenge... Remember when you almost cut my hand off with your axe? Your lucky that didn't hit you. I glared at him, looking down at my hand. The scars across my hand from Jay practically chopping my fingers off brought the pain back.

"Well you shot my foot with a gun afterwards! Wasn't that enough revenge?" He said gritting his teeth. I looked away from my hand.

"No." I replied as I walked over to the wall, pulling my arrow out of the stone with one swift flick of my wrist.

"Well, I brought you some tea if that makes you feel better." He rolled his eyes and held out the platter.

"Jay. I drink beer and wine. Not tea. I'm not the damn queen of England for Gods' Sake." I smirked.

"Good. Drink up." He said as he walked across the room, dumping the platter out the window and pulling a bottle of wine from inside his robe. I pulled the cork out with my dagger and took my wine glass from the nightstand.

"You guys in here?" Said an all to familiar voice.

"Yeah! We're in here Matt!" Yelled Jay taking a sip of the wine from a glass I handed him. Matthew Frost. President of the Assassins Illuminati. He's a good guy. A but full of himself, rich, but especially humorous. They all call him the boy who thinks he's a cow. I can agree. He goes to the farm a few blocks down and talks to the cattle. I cant blame him, those cows never shut up. And he's just as cute as them. Well... Cows aren't cute, really.. Anyway, back to the story.

Matt sat down beside me on the cot and Jay tossed him a beer. "Thanks, Jay." He said. Jay dipped his head.

"Any day, Moo." He smirked ad he took another sip of red wine.

"So, what's Mega Star assigning us to this time?" I questioned Matt, since he knew everything going on in Florence. Mega Star was another close friend of mine. He calls himself the "Future Overlord of Europe". He's kinda short. Overlord and shot don't seem to mix properly. He's smart I can give him that. But he's also a tad bit full of himself. Good friend though.

Matt stared at the ceiling a while before he answered. "Well, uh, the Brotherhood wanted the five elites to go on a mission." He admitted.

"Oh no! I'm not going on a mission with Shy Fawn!" Jay complained. "The last time that happened, I banged her over the head with a branch." He rolled his eyes, flipping his hair out of his face.

"Well, that's just a shame. You need to learn to get along with her again." Matthew muttered.

"Whatever..." Jay growled.

Shy Fawn is one of my closest friends. She's been by my side since my parents were taken into slavery by the romans. Like her name describes her, she's shy, soft, bubbly, and most of all loving and a sweet person the me around. She loves nature too. If she found a caterpillar on her porch, she would sit there and watch for an hour or so.

"Well, I don't know about you guys, but I'm heading out to training. I told my friends as I sat up and packed my arrows into my quiver. I was about to put my last arrow back in before I noticed the black mark on it. All of Jays' Wings' arrows gave a black stripe on them so, I knew it was his.

"Here take it." I said as I held the arrow out to him. He looked up at me. "No." He said. This is one of those moments I started getting impatient with him.

"Take. It." I repeated.

Jay smiled. "Meow."

I finally shrugged and turned around back to my cot. Before I could put it back, matt signaled me with his hands to do something only Matt would suggest. I drew back my bow as quietly as I could while Jays' Wing wasn't looking and I let go of the arrow. It shot through the air and got wedged in his cloth satchel. Jay screamed and fell of the chair. Matt stared cracking up and rolled off the bed. I got up and walked over to Jay who was struggling to pull the arrow out of his satchel. He looked up and glared at me playfully.

"Keep it." I said before I got on my knees and pulled a beer from inside his robe. I popped off the top with my teeth and took a swig. I smiled teasingly before I got back up and walked back to sit on the cot.
