“Tohru, I’m-” Kyo started but Tohru interrupted him; “It’s okay, I’m used to it by now” she said while she was drying her eyes from tears. It clearly wasn’t okay. “No Tohru! I’m really sorry. I’m sorry I sound irritated, refuse to eat your food and storm off looking pissed all the time. I’m sorry. I just-” he took a breath, “I just don’t know how to act around you.
“You always act so kind to me and no one else except Shishou would do that. I guess I thought you would hate me when you saw the monster that I actually am.” He sneaked a look at her just to see what she was thinking. He couldn’t see, that was the thing with Tohru though, she never gave away what she was thinking unless it was something obnoxiously obvious.
“How would I ever hate you, Kyo?” Tohru whispered, “Sure, you do really hurt me sometimes but it’s what I was saying before, with the onigiri, you might not see your Umeboshi but I can see it, it’s clear as day for me that you’re SO amazing and sometimes it makes me SO MAD that you can’t see it. “You’re the most AMAZING person I’ve ever met. Sometimes, when I can see that you feel down, I just want to hug you and it makes me sad that I can’t but sometimes I do anyway because you look cute as a cat,” She laughed a small laugh and continued, “I know I’m talking a lot and I’m sorry and I know this probably won’t help but I need you to hear this; I know you easily get angry and it does hurt me a little but I still want you to know that you’re my friend and I care about you so much, sometimes I think I might explode because I care about you so much!”
She said it with so much innocence Kyo had to laugh and he hugged her. He didn’t care he would turn into a cat, he had grown used to it, he just wanted her to know he cared.
