The Medicine Den - Part 3

3 moons past. Ashpaw was now Ashcloud, a full medicine Cat. Rainpaw had recovered, though he still had a bit of a limp, Rainpelt was his warrior name.

Today was the day of Frostflame's kits apprentices ceremonies. Hazelbreeze stood next to Ashcloud to watch at the entrance of the Medicine Den. The Clan had gathered around into a circle. Vinestar leaped down from the Black Rock. The three kits shuffled in the centre, their coats glossy from grooming. "Basilkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed" Basilkit padded forward excitedly "From this day on until you have received your warrior name you will be known as Basilpaw" Cheers echoed across the hollow "Basilpaw! Basilpaw!" Hazelbreeze purred, she spotted Swiftfur, puffing out his chest with pride as he gazed at his son. Vinestar continued "Blackfire, you are ready to take on another apprentice. I hope you pass on your courage and loyalty down to Basilpaw" Blackfire's jet pelt shimmered as he shouldered his way past some cats. Basilpaw's ginger tail tip twitched as he and Blackfire touched noses with respect. As Basilpaw and Blackfire padded away, Vinestar cleared his throat. He said the ceremony words and continued the last part "Clearmist, this will be your first apprentice. I trust you to pass down you patience and determination to Acornpaw" Acornpaw fluffed up her dark ginger fur, her bright green eyes sparkling. As apprentice and mentor left the circle, Rosekit was called up. "Orchideshade, you will be the mentor of Rosepaw. You have received excellent training from Pebblefoot, and have shown yourself to be loyal and responsible. I expect you to pass down these qualities to Rosepaw" Orchidshade touched his nose to Rosepaw as the cheering started "Rosepaw! Rosepaw!"

As the clearing spread out, Hazelbreeze felt content in her belly. She yawned, turning back to the Medicine Den. Amberfall had gotten better, Leaf-bare was over. Everything was well.
