"Hey hey hey!" Emma bursts in to the room.

"Hey!"

"I have come to spill the details on Devin's date." I put down my laptop.

"He actually told you about it?!"

She throws her head back laughing. "Oh gosh no! I listened in on his phone conversation with his friend."

Of course. Typical Emma.

So we spent the next half hour talking about how awful Devin's date went.

"Hey, girls, I'm ordering Chinese food, do you want any?" Mom walked in.

"The usual please!" She nodded then walked out and continued to order.

"So how's your Aunt Liz's doing? And where is she?"

"Oh, she went for a walk. She can get ideas for styles and such from everything. So yeah... Anyway, she's doing great. Business has picked up even more."

"That's awesome! I wish we could have gone to London this summer! Man I've always wanted to go there."

"It's pretty great. But there's always next summer!"

"Yes! But if we do go to the UK next summer, we have to go back to Holmes Chapel to see the guy that lived near your aunt. Oh my God he was cute!"

I laughed at that. "Are you kidding? The kid looked like a gay librarian."

"Hey! He was sweet and adorable!"

"Okay, Emma." She chucked a pillow at me from across the room - hitting me in the face.

"Real mature Em." She gave me a thumbs up.

"Chinese is here!" My mom called from the kitchen.

"Yes!" We got up and ran. Aunt Liz was back and sitting on one of the bar stools.

"Oh my, is this Emma?!"

"Hi Liz!"

Emma ran and gave her a hug.

"You've grown up so much!"

She laughed. "Yeah!"

"So how was your walk Aunt Liz? Anything inspire you?"

"Oh yes! I've got quite a few new ideas. I can't wait to get started on them once I get back."

"Great!"

"So both of you are still doing music, right?" We nodded.

"Well after dinner, you have to play me something! I'm sure your voices have matured and gotten even better since the last time I heard you."

"Of course we will Liz!"

"Mom, when's dad get back?"

"He'll be back tomorrow evening." Dad's a route driver so sometimes he's gone over night, or like now, over a few days.

"Okay."

Once we finished, Em and I ran to my room to grab my guitar then met mom and Liz out in the living room.

"What should we play, Em?"

"How about the Kelly Clarkson one we've been working on?"

"Alrighty!"

(A/N: Video on the side; Emma sings Reba's parts, Presley sings Kelly's parts)

I will not make the same mistakes that you did

I will not let myself

Cause my heart so much misery

I will not break the way you did,

You fell so hard

I've learned the hard way

To never let it get that far

Because of you

I never stray too far from the sidewalk

Because of you

I learned to play on the safe side so I don't get hurt

Because of you

I find it hard to trust not only me, but everyone around me

Because of you

I am afraid

I lose my way

And it's not too long before you point it out

I cannot cry

Because I know that's weakness in your eyes

I'm forced to fake

A smile, a laugh everyday of my life

My heart can't possibly break

When it wasn't even whole to start with

Because of you

I never stray too far from the sidewalk

Because of you

I learned to play on the safe side so I don't get hurt

Because of you

I find it hard to trust not only me, but everyone around me

Because of you

I am afraid

I watched you die

I heard you cry every night in your sleep

I was so young

You should have known better than to lean on me

You never thought of anyone else

You just saw your pain

And now I cry in the middle of the night

For the same damn thing

Because of you

I never stray too far from the sidewalk

Because of you

I learned to play on the safe side so I don't get hurt

Because of you

I try my hardest just to forget everything

Because of you

I don't know how to let anyone else in

Because of you

I'm ashamed of my life because it's empty

Because of you

I am afraid

Because of you

Because of you

"Girls! That was so great!" Liz was clapping like a maniac. "There isn't a doubt in my mind that you two are going to go places with music. I can see it now! Your names in bright lights! Oh I'm so excited. But you have to promise me one thing."

Me and Em started laughing at her reaction.

"Sure."

"When you do become famous, you can't forget about me. And whenever you need a fancy dress to wear to the Grammy's, you'll call me up."

This is why I love my Aunt Liz.

"Who else could we even wear?"

"Nobody compares to you Liz."

"You two are too sweet!"

"Just speaking the truth Liz!" I shrugged my shoulders and gave her a smile.
