Ciel. A kindhearted angel, quite optimistic and cheery. Loved by many. However, he annoyed me. He was simply too upbeat for me.

I had figured that possibly, if I kept him occupied with converting orders, he will have no time to nag. Lightly put, I would be overworking him, and that is against code, but there was a slim chance I would get away with this.

I had upped my order production, and Ciel did appear stressed when it became more work than he could keep up with. He had even asked me to slow down my work. I simply feigned I couldn't hear him.

I noticed Ciel had been stashing orders away without converting them, perhaps to work on later? No, the stash continued accumulating. If a higher angel found this stash, both me and Ciel would be expelled.

But of course, one had, and we were. A Seraph had appeared before me, its expression sorrowful.

"Cherub Beau," it addressed me sternly. "You have been causing some disturbance with another angel, have you not?"

I averted my gaze in shame. With a sigh, I admitted my fault.

"Indeed I have. I apologize greatly."

"Do you understand your consequences as a result of this action? Ciel will receive them as well."

I nodded in understanding at the first statement, but gasped at the following.

"Yes, I realize my mistake but, I request that Ciel's punishment be withheld for some amount of time? It is my fault he acted differently."

The Seraph looked at me intently. "I will take your request into consideration. But as for you, you must be expelled immediately. If you can prove your angelic worth on Earth, you may return."

With a wave of its hand, the cloud-like ground parted. Below was a clear view of Earth. I closed my eyes, breathed deeply, and allowed myself to fall through.

I only fell for a small amount of time before I lost consciousness. In that amount of time, two things happened. First, my ears popped, causing a high-pitched ring sound. It was incredibly loud, and I could not bear it. Then, as I reached my terminal velocity, my wings began to deteriorate. That was the moment I slipped into some kind of coma.
