Abuja, Nigeria.

He woke up to the loud sound of his alarm. He tapped snooze button and went back to sleep right before he heard someone knocking. "Honey it's time for you to wake up." Maama peeped through the door. "I really don't want to go to work today maama" he grumbled.

"Oh ni Amina! Will you get up and get ready for work. Wallahi if you've chosen the wife of your choice and get married I wouldn't be here yelling like a mad woman. And when you're back from work, father and I would like to talk to you about something important." With that, she sauntered out of the room.

He sighed and slipped out of the bed to his bathroom. After having a warm bath, he dressed up in his Gucci black suit with matching shoes. He wore his golden Rolex with his car keys and phone.

He went to his father's side and greeted him before heading to his mothers side. "Have you eaten?" She queried as he plumped down on the sofa close to her queen sized bed. "No, I'm already late." He looked at his wrist watch. "I'll take coffee and some waffles if there is before heading out." He kissed her forehead and bade her goodbye one last time.

As he was done with his coffee and waffles, he stepped out of the house. He wore his Dior sunglasses and headed towards his car.

"But babe you promised you'd follow me to Paris. Why the sudden change?"

Bashir felt irritated the minute Malika walked into his office. "When did I say I was going to follow you to Paris? You begged me and I said I would think about it. Please Malika don't vex me this early morning and kindly leave my office cause I'm having a meeting now!"

She wasn't surprised by the way he bayed at her. She was already used to it. "Okay baby I'll be leaving now. Besides, I need to go shopping before taking off. And please stop rejecting my calls" she pleaded.

She walked out of the office swaying her butt sideways to get his attention. He shook his head and looked away. He stood up from his chair and walked to the glass window. He stared at the cars passing by.

It was becoming a hobby for him; staring at cars passing by while thinking how his future was gonna be. All his life he wants to get a nice and decent wife. Malika is the opposite of that. Perhaps she'd change if he marries her.

He dismissed the thought of marrying Malika and went back to work. He sat on his chair right before a knock came from the door. "Come in" he said not bothering to look up to see who it was. "You're such a Workaholic" he groaned and sat opposite bashir. "Good morning to you too. What brings you to my office this early morning?" He rested his back on the chair.

"You know my wife is out of town and I still have two weeks to spend before going back to work so be happy I  chose to visit My best friend." Bashir chuckled. "And what if I was in a meeting?" He questioned. "Enough with the questions mehn I'm hungry. Let's go eat please" Madyan pleaded. "No I have work to do" Bashir said looking at his laptop.

"What type of work will be more important than your cousin and your best friend?" He asked. "I really don't have your time. Now you may leave, run to your wife" he teased. "Don't worry you'll come back looking for me ai" Madyan said getting up from the chair. "That time I'll be far gone" he added. "Don't worry bro, when I'm done I'll see you at your house" Bashir assured shaking hands with him. "Alright then."

Kaduna, Nigeria.

"Meenah where's that your boyfriend, Aalee. I don't see him anymore." Aisha, Ameenah's best friend asked. "Eesha don't start! Just don't start! You know I don't like Aalee and there's nothing between us!" She sent daggers her way. "Oh Allah I was just joking but seriously I don't see him anymore. It's been like 5 days since I last saw him."

"Kinga it's getting late and I know aunty must be worried sick" Ameenah said walking faster. "And we've arrived my bus stop. Till we meet tomorrow." Aisha waved at her best friend. Ameenah waved back.

She held her Quran unto her chest while walking slowly to her parents house. "Oh My Love, how I've missed you." He blocked her way. "Aalee please I don't have time for any of your troubles. Please just leave me alone, and it's getting late. Please just let me be" she pleaded. "Lemme walk you home" he offered.  "No thank you" she rejected and walked passed him.

"It's been 6 days since I've been sick and you never cared to check up on me ko. Haba my meenah." He smiled. She hissed and sped her paced. He kept following her till she reached home. "Bye meenah till we meet tomorrow again." He waved. She hissed and sauntered into their two bed room flat with a salam. "Waalaykumus salam. Ameenah what happened? Why are you just coming back now?" Aunty asked worried.

"Aunty I'm fine. Our malam asked us to sweep our classes before leaving" she explained slipping out of her hijab. "Your food is in your room. Go and eat" she ordered and Ameenah nodded. She went into her room and changed into one of her faded atamfas.

She opened the rubber plate and came across with dan wake; her favorite. She ate up her dinner and took the plate the where they do the dishes. She washed her hand and performed to wudhu to pray Maghrib.

She went into her room and spread the praying mat before slipping into one of her hijabs. She prayed and did her azkhar. She waited for isha and when it was time, she offered her prayers and folded the mat before remove her hijab and hoping on to her mattress.

After spending some time with his best friend, he called it a night and left. He parked his car at the parking lot and alighted. He went straight to his father's side of the house. "Salamu alaykum."

They chorused in union. "Bashir, your mother and I have been wanting to talk to you about something important" baba started. "Don't you think it's time to settle down?" Mama went straight to the point. "You're not getting any younger you know" baba added.

"Yes baba, it's just that I haven't..." he trailed off scratching the back of his head. "How about that girl that visits you all the time?" Baba asked. "No, not that rude, shameless girl! Not Malika!" Mama protested. "Mama I know and she's not my type. Please give me some time to get things right" he pleaded. "No bashir I know it will take you years to find a spouse. I'll help you look for one if you don't mind" mama said.

"You can go. Take your time my son. Allah yayi albarka." Bashir said his good night before leaving. He went straight to his side and hopped into the shower. He was so tired. He had his shower and sashayed out of the bathroom. He slipped into his pjs and got ready to sleep when he received a call from an unknown number.

"Hey babe, I just got settled into my apartment and decided to check on you" she chirped in. "Malika I'm really tired and I don't have energy to talk so we'd talk tomorrow, Good night." He cut the call and put his phone on silent. She called again but he ignored it. He said his du'as and drifted into a deep slumber.
