Secrets of a Bride and Groom

Family

So the story... I'll start from where I can remember clearly.

The boy's eyes flew open, startling the young girl tending to him nearby. He looked around confused but otherwise didn't cause much commotion around him. The girl lay down what she was carrying onto the table beside the bed and ran out of the room, confusing the boy further as he didn't know what he did to her, or what he was meant to do.

Without realising, after she left, he sat up on the bed and looked around, now able to focus and notice his surroundings more clearly. It was an average sized room, but big enough for one person to live comfortably in. The furniture was quite basic including all the essentials; wardrobe, chest, drawers, beside table, and a bed. Somehow he felt less tense while staring and each piece noting how they were similar to each other. He seemed satisfied with it all.

His ears perked up when he heard a multitude of noises from outside of the room and they were getting closer and louder. The boy ,unsure what he should be doing, just sat still, waiting, sensing and staring in the direction where the noises were coming from, locked in a fight or flight state of mind.

The girl was the first to enter the room, literally bursting through, had the room not been closed off, followed by two older people who carried a bunch of objects with them and then set it down beside the boy. He stared at the objects until one of the older people, with hair on their face, spoke to him.

"So you're awake, that's good to know. You've been out for a while now and we started to worry, especially after under the strange circumstances of how we found you."

The people introduced themselves as Eli, Elie and Lilith. A family they told the boy, a Father, Mother and Daughter, and they were looking after him. The boy relaxed his body knowing bit that they were good people and not going to hurt him, at that moment.

They explained how they found him by the river close by and how he unconscious with no signs of waking up. So they took him to their house and have been taking care of him ever since. They told him he's been asleep for a week, but he gave them a confused look having no understanding of what they had just told him.

Eli and Elie looked back at him also confused and then to each other, concerned they asked the boy other questions but all they got was the same confused look. It was clear to them then that the boy had no memory of what had happened to him and seems to have little to no knowledge whatsoever of anything. However they again asked him what his name was, now after explaining what a name is.

The boy gave it some thought, thinking of something that he could have been called by. Images and voices flashed quickly in his mind hurting him, but there was one word he remembered repeatedly, then he spoke,

"A. A... gent....... Agent." He looked at them, confident that that is what his name is.

Eli and Elie looked at each other then went across to the other side of the room to discuss what next to do.

"They're my Mommy and Daddy" Lilith said taking the time to inform Agent of what a family consists of again in case he forgot, "I think they're talking about what do now. I asked if we can keep you but they didn't seem so sure about it. I always wanted a big brother though and it doesn't look like you have anywhere to go." She smiled brightly at him making him curious about her actions and so tried to smile back. His attempts were that awkward and weird, Lilith then decided to teach him how to smile.

While Agent and Lilith were working on smiling, Elie noticed how well they were getting along and started to reconsider what Lilith had asked her and Eli before, keeping the boy with them. She told Eli what she was thinking and it startled him. They've never taken in someone with a mental problem before, let alone the boy being a complete stranger, yet the fact that the boy didn't seem like the type to do anything dangerous at this time, made him reconsider his initial thoughts about the subject. With this he made up his mind.

"Well Agent," Eli said walking towards him, "As of this moment you will now be part of our family, and you will be staying here as long as that's alright with you." Both parents smiled at Agent while Lilith jumped on him excited and ecstatic that she finally got a big brother. Agent unfazed by Lilith's attack on him, just glanced from her to Eli and Elie and smiled back. Though still unsure what exactly happened. All he knew, was that he wasn't going anywhere.
