"Is she going to be done anytime soon?" Murphy grumbled, earning a rather murderous look from 10k before his attention went to the makeshift changing area that Warren had set up for their new member. Doc piped up, "We don't rush you, Murphy. Give the girl a break." He urged as the blue man simply huffed in defeat. Stepping out, she was more in apocalypse appropriate clothing of jeans, a tee shirt, and combat boots. Her own touch was a well-loved leather jacket that she straightened out before her attention went to the group, all seeming to be staring at her, "What?" She asked cautiously before 10k moved toward her, "Do you feel better?" He asked quietly, referring to her change of clothes as he could tell how uncomfortable she was in that dress she was forced to wear for who knows how long. She nodded up at him with a smile, "Yes, I do. Thanks." She murmured. A feral Cassandra looked at her, catching how 10k seemed to gaze upon that girl like she was some otherworldly being which didn't sit well with her for some reason.
Tying her hair back, a mixture of ebony and white from a sole streak that cut through her hair, she let out a breath of comfort as she smirked. 10k couldn't quite seem to take his eyes away, even for a second as his attention was only shifted when Doc spoke up, "I guess we got a new part of the family." He chuckled as Warren gave an approving nod, "Don't scare her, Doc. She's still new. Family is a big word in the apocalypse." Doc nodded apologetically as Murphy gave his two sense, "Can we cut the crap and get back on the road?" He gestured to the truck quite harshly, "In case anyone forgot, I am kind of important." He looked around. Sadie saw 10k grow visibly tense as she instinctively rested a hand on his arm. Amazingly, he relaxed at her touch as his eyes drifted to her with a soft grin.
Once they were all back in the truck, Sadie sat by 10k as she felt most safe with him close by since he was the one to break her out of an endless cycle of drooling, prowling men. Though, as she rode beside the taller sniper, she couldn't help but feel eyes on her as she looked around. Her turquoise eyes locked with Cass' as she jumped slightly, getting an uneasy feeling from her stare that made her heart beat just a little faster. It was like the female was sizing her up and that made her all the more confused until 10k touched her arm, "Hey, are you alright?" Her eyes broke the connection with Cass as she looked at him, "Yeah..." She murmured as 10k looked at Cass then back at Sadie, "Don't worry about her. She kind of... comes and goes." He reassured her with a smile before turning his attention to the passing scenery again. Sadie glanced at Cass and she swore if only for a moment, the female almost looked heartbroken.
It really wasn't long before the truck the group had been traveling in broke down, as every car seemed to have a limited life span in the apocalypse - more than they ever did in pre Z. Now traveling on foot, Operation Bitemark talked amongst themselves but the two younger members stayed back a ways as Sadie was currently laughing at a remark 10k had made about Murphy being lazy which made the sniper beam in pride.
Her smile. He began to realize that it was his most favorite sight he had seen in a long time.
The two began to talk, small chit-chats about meager things in their day to day fashion of surviving until 10k brought up a subject that had been itching at him since they left the joint he rescued her from, "So, about that picture.." He began. Sadie glanced at him with a hesitant grin, "You're certainly deadset on whose in that photo." 10k gave a nervous chuckle before he heard her speak, "It's my older brother. I lost him toward the beginning of the apocalypse." She explained, "I carry his photo because it reminds me to keep going. Even if it feels like I can't." She looked at him, a glossy sheen to her eyes of threatening tears. 10k frowned, sympathetic to the idea of losing family as he gulped, "I... lost my Pa around the same time. I had to mercy him." He admitted as it earned an equally sympathetic look from the petite female. She moved closer, bumping her arm against his before coaxing him to smile with her own, "Look at it this way, 10k-" She started with a positive tone.
"At least we won't be so alone, now."
