Dazed and Confused

Sadie took front and center while Doc pushed the shopping cart with a dozed off 10k riding inside, the older man huffing and puffing purely by how heavy he actually was as the girl looked back, "Want me to take over Doc?" He shook his head, "No, I'm alright girly. Just keep a lookout, yeah?" She hesitated but nodded anyway, continuing forward. Just as they stopped to take a break, a familiar SUV rushed by as Doc recognized Warren in the front seat, "Warren!" With that, the vehicle screeched to a halt as smoke flew from burning rubber before everyone leaped from the SUV. Hugs and greetings were shared as Warren kissed Sadie's forehead, "Glad to see you're okay." She murmured. Doc then chimed in, "We found 10k!" Warren's attention went to the older man, "You what?" Doc nodded then turned around to see the same shopping cart rolling backward down the hill, prompting the others to chase after it.

Down the road, the group stopped again as 10k had been sleeping in the very back while Sadie sat atop the SUV in thought. The group spoke amongst themselves before Warren's attention fell on a stirring 10k, his eyes shooting open and throwing himself from the back in a panic before he processed where he was. He looked around at everyone, being helped up as he smiled half-heartedly. He was still dazed from Doc's mixture back at the asylum but he was there enough to greet everyone until his eyes fell on Sadie, then the rest of the world faded off and he moved to the side of the SUV, "Hey.." He croaked softly as her eyes drifted over to him. 'God', He thought to himself, 'She's gotten even more beautiful since the last time I saw her'. He reached out, taking her hand in his, "You gonna come down and see me?" He asked, offering a sheepish smile as she moved from the SUV and slid down to stand beside him. Their eyes seemed to lock though hers looked tired as he cupped her cheek, "I thought about you.. every day." He admitted as she seemed to lean into his touch. His lips caught hers, kissing her with every bit of love and admiration his body could muster as she kissed back.

The feel of her lips, it was almost enough to make all the pain go away from his months stuck under Murphy's command, his taller stature pressing against her ever so slightly to coax her against the vehicle as his fingers moved up into her hair. A cough came, sending both of them apart with flushed faces as Doc smirked, "You two caught up?" 10k didn't answer, scratching the back of his neck as he looked away in embarrassment while Sadie bit her lip and shifted her eyes to the ground. When Doc left them alone, 10k looked at her but before he could speak, she walked away as his face sank. Did he do something wrong? Was he too pushy? His mind raced as he went to follow her but Warren pulled him aside to ask for his help.

The group soon made their way on foot to search for a vehicle so Addy and Doc could go after Murphy's daughter, Lucy, and bring her to them as she had the potential to be the back up for a cure. During their search, the group happened upon what appeared to be an old gas station but it looked aged and the scene was nothing short of gruesome with blood and dead Zs scattered on the asphalt.

10k had tried to get Sadie's attention but she ultimately ignored him, making him more worried at what he had done before he decided just to give her space for now. He looked at a sign as the group looked over cars, "Uh, guys." He pointed to a sign reading 'Car thieves will be killed' as it earned a huff from Warren. She started to talk things over with the others when Doc called for 10k to follow him, taking him aside to talk, "You gotta tell them." 10k shook his head, "No, I don't want them thinking I'm on Murphy's side. I especially don't want Sadie to see me differently." Doc shook his head, "Then what do you plan on doing?" 10k sighed, retorting, "Just give me more time.. I'll take care of it." The two looked up when Warren walked in, holding 10k's satchel in her hand as she began questioning him about the shots.

"I don't know what's in them. I was just told to keep them safe." He explained, lying through his teeth but he could see in Warren's eyes that she was catching on. She wasn't stupid, very far from it but he couldn't risk losing his family over some asshole with a god-complex. After she left, he looked at Doc as the man raised his brows, "I got it." He reassured before he saw Sadie walk in, looking around quietly, "Can you give me a moment, Doc?" He asked, gesturing his head to Sadie.

"I wanna talk to her alone."
