Flashback Continues

Marley tossed another outfit at me. It was a baby blue crop top and a pair of dark wash ripped jeans. "That's the one." She said confidently. I changed into it, I had to admire my fashionista best friend's eye for style. "You look so hot. Chance will love it." My breath caught.

"Chance?" I questioned.

"Yeah, I saw the way he looked at you, he's still obsessed." Marley flittered around the room as my blood turned to ice.

"I'm not trying to impress Chance, if anything I'm trying to catch Jon's attention." I laughed uncomfortably. Marley's eye glimmered.

"Okay, you take your pick. I'm set on Matt." She said. "Urg, he's a cutie." I laughed as Marley closed her eyes and swayed back and forth.

"You've got that one in the bag, easy." I said to her, moving across my room to my vanity to curl my hair.

"You think?"

"Oh for sure, the sweet innocent types love you, you bring out their wild side." I replied. Marley smoothed her outfit down. She looked flawless in her white lace top and black jeans. I had just finished the last curl when I heard a knock on my bedroom door. "Come in!" Lee peaked his head inside, eyes closed.

"Is everyone decent?" He asked. I snickered.

"Yes Leemon." Marley replied, using his much hated full name. Lee gave us both the once over.

"You look hot. Let's go, I have Mike's Hard in the truck." We head downstairs and I say goodbye to my dad before we all jump in Lee's beaten up old Ford truck. "Tonight is going to be so much fun." Lee said, tapping his steering wheel to the beat of the song. I lay down across his back seat.

"Tell me everything you know about Matt, likes and dislikes." Marley said to Lee. They chattered away the rest of the car ride while I closed my eyes and enjoyed the noise.

Jon's house was incredible to say the least. It was an old plantation house that had been redone into a modern manor. We parked down the street and had to walk up the grand driveway to get to the door. I jumped on Lee's back and he carried me up the steps. The party was already in full swing as we entered. Marley's eye frantically searched the room for the boys, while mine landed right on the bottle of tequila in Jon's hands. As if reading my mind, Lee said "go get your drink and your man." I laughed and approached Jon. I had no idea where my boldness came from, usually I would cower in the corner, it was probably the fact that he was holding alcohol.

"Hanna." He said as I approached, turning away from the chatty blonde cheerleader. "I didn't know you partied." His voice was smooth, it was almost hypnotic.

"I don't do it a lot, but I can be persuaded." I smile. He passes me the bottle of tequila. "Do you not own a single shot glass in this mansion?"

"It tastes better out the bottle." He laughed. I took a swig and let the alcohol heat me up inside. My nerves settled and my body became less tense. His eyes met mine and it felt like he was searching my soul. "I have something stronger if you want it." I handed the bottle back to him.

"I never say no to a good time." Jon extended his hand to me and pulled me through the crowd of people. We wove through the masses when a hand brushed against my shoulder. I looked up to see Matt, smiling at me. I tried to stop to say hi but Jon kept moving.

"Marley is looking for you!" I shouted to Matt before turning away. Jon pulled me up the stairs and into a room right off the main hallway. I was inside Jon Roden's room. What was happening. I perched myself on the end of his neatly made bed while he dug around in his dresser. He pulled out a baggy filled with white bars. "Xans?" I asked. Jon smiled at me.

"You take 'em?"

"For fun."

"You are full of surprises today Hanna." Jon said, handing me a pill. I knocked it back easy, I was a pro. Jon sat next to me on the bed. "You are beautiful." He said, running his fingers through my hair. My eyes drifted down to his lips. The only lips I had been thinking about for years. What was happening? Were all the stars aligning? I bit my lip as he leaned in. His mouth met mine with passion, he tasted like tequila and cigarettes and somehow that was my new favorite taste. I don't know how long we made out for, but suddenly an overwhelming calmness washed over me. All my cares were gone. Jon pushed me back onto his bed, climbing over me. I suddenly felt very small and very out of control. I knew this feeling too well.

"I'm not having sex with you." I whispered, more like I was trying to convince myself.

"Are you sure?" Jon's lips brushed against my ear. "Because I really think you want to." The Xanax was kicking in and I was loosing control. My breathing got heavy as Jon's lips found their way to my collarbone.

"Jon, no, I don't want to have high sex with you." My voice croaked with false confidence.

"I've heard that's your favorite way to do it." Jon reached for my belt buckle as I shot up.

"Excuse me?" I fought through the fog. Jon leaned away from me, too high to care.

"Chance said you're an easy lay when you're high." Jon flopped back onto the bed. I stared at him. Crushed and embarrassed were the only words I could think of. Jon hummed. "So either we can do it now, or I can go continue working my magic on Becky." I fought to stand.

"I'm not an easy lay Jon. Fuck you." I staggered to the door while Jon just laughed and floated away on his cloud. I stumbled out the door and down the stairs. Mentally telling myself to pull it together and not cry.

"Hey! Are you okay?" Matt grabbed me before I could hit the ground.

"I just need some air." I said, clutching on to his shoulder.

"Okay, okay come on." He gripped my waist and helped me outside. We walked away from the house to a small bench, alone in the garden. I stared at him, memorizing his features. "You are so high." He chuckled. I swayed back and forth.

"You're so not high." I replied. He captured my chin and held me steady.

"You don't have to be high to have fun." Great, a lecture. I rolled my eyes, but continued to let him hold the weight of my head in his hand. His eyes studied me, absorbing my features. His eyes landed on my lips.

"Do you just want to have sex with me too?" The words flowed out of me to fast to stop them.

"What?" Matt dropped his hand. Tears began to well in my eyes. "What happened upstairs? What did he do?" Anger flashed in Matt's eyes. "Did he try to have sex with you?" The tears spilled.

"I'm an easy lay. I guess I'm just an easy lay." I muttered. Matt wiped the tears from my eyes.

"Hanna, I don't know you, I don't know if you are an easy lay, but no man should ever make you feel like you have to be." Matt's words weren't what I expected, but they were what I needed. "Come on, let's get out of here." I gave him a side eye. First you say I don't have to be an easy lay, now you want to go home with me? He laughed, "not in a sexual way, let's go do something fun until your high wears off and I can take you home." I smiled.

"Okay."
