The last thing Jimin expected when he got home from a long day of practice was for Yoongi to spring out of seemingly nowhere and drop onto the couch beside him just as he'd kicked off his shoes. "Right, I've done some research and I believe we should be married," Yoongi announced without preamble.

Jimin turned to him and frowned in confusion. "Hyung, what the bloody hell makes you think we should be married - no, wait, better yet, what research could possibly lead to that conclusion?" he demanded tiredly.

Yoongi frowned. "Hmmm, bad day at practice? Maybe this isn't the best time to talk," he said and Jimin just stared as Yoongi stood and walked away without another word.

Jimin sighed and shook his head, relaxing into the couch. "Complete nutter, that one," he muttered tiredly to the empty room.

It was two days later before Yoongi broached the subject again - once again at random - while they were waiting for their manager to give them instructions on rehearsal. "So the other day I mentioned it, but you never did answer on the idea of marriage."

Jimin shot him a look. "Yoongi hyung, why on earth should we get married?" he asked pointedly.

Yoongi smiled a smug smile that clearly said he had worked something out. "Because my research concludes that it is a logical step forward, obviously." He held up a hand, producing fingers for each point. "We've lived together for several years now, we're both technically middle-aged, we're commonly injured and often have to lie our way into each others hospital rooms, it would do wonders for our taxes, Namjoon would probably stop trying to convince me you're going to leave because I'm annoying, and I certainly expect it would be simpler than the multiple women you fail attempting relationships with every year while also restricting the number of unwanted attentions I get myself," he said, giving Jimin a look that clearly expected an answer.

Jimin slapped a hand over his eyes and rubbed his face. "Hyung, you're missing a very large point there," he said, looking up. Yoongi tilted his head in confusion and Jimin shook his head in exasperation. "You marry somebody because you love and want to spend the rest of your life with them, not your mate because it's convenient-"

Yoongi just frowned. "Well obviously I love you and want to spend the rest of my life with you, why wouldn't I?" he asked as if it were the most obvious thing ever.

Jimin just gaped. "You love me?" he demanded and Yoongi raised an eyebrow, looking at Jimin as if he were the dimmest person to ever breathe.

"Do you really think I'd do so much for someone I only sort of liked?" he demanded and Jimin gave a shocked laugh.

"Jesus Christ, hyung, if the way you treat me is how you treat somebody you love I'd hate to see how you treat people you don't like," he said, then groaned. "Alright, that clusterfuck of information aside, we aren't even dating. You're asexual and I'm straight, hyung."
