-Mia-
I gripped the counter, breathing loudly a few times before squeezing my eyes closed and shaking my head. "No, I think it's getting. .getting better. ." He placed his hands on my hips. "Are you sure?"
I nodded, licking my lips and opening my eyes. "Yeah, I'm sure. It's better now."
As I was five months, almost six, I had been experiencing new symptoms. The baby was deciding to be picky and show more of his appearance. I was starting to get a lot more tired and dizzy, hence why I was holding the counter and hoping the dizziness would go away.
I was constantly drinking water and always needed the bathroom. My head hurt a lot and my back felt like I had been punched there twice.
The bump was very revealing now and you could tell that I was pregnant. It no longer looked like a little bit of belly fat. It was starting to shape more too. My stomach was curved like a bulging circle and I couldn't help but admire it. It showed that the baby was growing and I was happy I finally had a proper pregnancy bump.
I sighed, rubbing my forehead. "You're making mama tired," I told the baby as I put my hand on my stomach.
I turned, his hands still on my hips and moving to my stomach. "And daddy work harder at keeping mama happy." I smiled a little, placing my hands on top of his on my stomach, giving the baby some love.
"I can't wait to meet you," Vincenzo murmured. "Me too," I agreed, equally excited to see the baby. I would often have dreams about what the baby would look like. Me or Vincenzo? Or a mix? Maybe like April.
I had adjusted to the life at at bungalow. Nothing had happened to me or April and we hadn't been outside in a while which was horrible. The only sunshine I got was from outside. April seemed to get restless inside but she had to stay in to be safe. I taught her schoolwork while she was there so she wasn't missing out on her education and made sure she was kept happy.
Vincenzo did go out though, sometimes for more than a day. I could see that he was tired and working hard. He came home once and immediately crashed onto the couch, falling asleep instantly.
He was exhausted, I could see that. He had dark bags under his eyes and was always yawning and sometimes he didn't mean to.
He gazed intently into my eyes and I couldn't help but wince a little at the bags under his eyes. "Why aren't you sleeping?" I asked curiously and he shook his head. "I am. .just not a lot. I've been busy."
"I know," I said, licking my lips slowly. "And I do appreciate all you're doing for us but you need some rest. Why don't you go sleep on the bed?"
He shook his head, "as good as that offer sounds, I can't. I need to-"
"Shh. ." I hushed him as he glanced down to my lips. "Go to sleep."
He pecked my lips, taking me by surprise. He smirked a little, pulling a strand of hair behind my ear and clicking his tongue before leaving to sleep.
I walked into the living room, sitting beside April. "Hey, sweetie, are you alright?" She didn't reply instead pouted a little, continuing to watch TV. "What's wrong?" I asked her and she sighed dramatically. "I don't like here. I want home."
I bit my lip, cuddling her a little. "Honey, we can't go home right now."
"Why?" She whined, a little frustrated."Because it's not safe," I truthfully told her, kissing her cheek. "So we have to stay here for some time and then. .we'll see." I didn't want to tell her that we were going to leave as soon as everything was alright without her father.
