Chapter 15

D: On my way

I look at the text and put my phone down, finishing getting ready. Dana still hasn't told me where she planned on taking me, which is why she wanted to drive me there. I was excited but also really grateful that she was doing this for me. She didn't have to, but she insisted that she wanted to.

She told me to dress casual, but still nice like a cute dress or something. It was nice outside too so I settled on a short, white flowy sundress that's a little see through in the middle right under my chest, but still nice enough and appropriate for dinner, and a pair of beige wedges with white straps. I also did my hair and beat my face with makeup because I don't really go out that much that requires me to look this nice and do my makeup so I went all out.

D: I'm here!

I look in the mirror one last time, satisfied with how I look. I grab my wallet and run out the door.

"You look amazing," Dana says as I step into the car.

"Why thank you... Where are we going?" I ask as she pulls out of my development.

"Cheesecake Factory. It's not that fancy but-" She starts to say but I interrupt her.

"I wouldn't care if you took me to McDonald's, thank you for even taking me out at all."

"Well you've been working hard and deserve it, seriously Maddy."

We pull up to the restaurant and both get out of the car. She opens the door for me and not even paying attention I hear a group of people yell "SURPRISE" not in unison but collectively as a group. I stop in my tracks once I'm through the door and look at the group of people sitting on the couch. I see my mom, Jungkook, Jimin, Hoseok, and Taehyung. My mom is holding balloons that say "congratulations" and they're all looking at me with excited expressions. I look at Dana and she's smiling. I start to tear up a little bit. I don't really want to cry in front of everyone but I definitely did not expect this.

"Oh my god, guys." And there goes the tears. I put my hand over my mouth and I hear some "awww's."

I go to hug my mom first as she's first in line.

"Congratulations, honey," she says in my ear.

"Thanks mom," I let go of the hug and wipe my eyes.

Then I move on to Jungkook. He smiles and cups my cheeks, not having to bend down as much due to the height that the wedges add. I was afraid he was going to kiss me because my mom didn't really need to see that and sometimes once we start, we won't be able to stop. But he didn't and I was glad he didn't. He held my face for a few seconds before speaking.

"Congratulations," he pulls me close and hugs me, kissing the top of my head. I was so thankful he didn't kiss me, call me princess, or say something dirty. He was well behaved and while I was glad, I was a little surprised, especially because I was expecting him to sneak in a little sexual comment somewhere.

Next is Jimin.

"See? I told you you could do it, I never doubted you." I break the hug and thank him. Then I hug Hoseok.

"Congratulations!" It was nice of him to come too. It was nice that everyone came.

After I hug and greet/thank everyone I pull Dana into a big hug.
