"I aimed my gun at the
back of his head."

Amelia's POV
Friday, 7:00 PM.

I cocked my gun.

Feeling the energy pumping through my veins, I quickly hid behind a corner. I stood completely still against the brick wall. Breathe. You can do this. I closed my eyes and tried to control myself. I was breathing heavily from running from him. I knew he was going to get me. I just waited for him to get me. Where is he? He was using way much more time than I expected. Maybe this is a trap? My question was being answered when I suddenly heard footsteps from around the corner. This is the end. I controlled my rapid breathing before exhaling. No, I am going to survive this. I carefully peaked my head around to see, hoping deeply that he wasn't facing me, if he was, I would end up dead. To my rare luck, his back was facing me while he held a gun aiming around him while walking backwards, fortunately not in my direction. I take no risks. I aimed my gun at the back of his head. He still haven't seen me, which was unusual. Stupid jerk. He was being too inattentive today. I squeezed one of my eyes shut to perfect my aim. I was about to press on the trigger when my mind contemplated whether or not I should shoot him. I lowered my gun a bit. Well, since I've come this far already, might just get this over with, I thought. I mentally shrugged then proceeded to readjust my grip on my gun. Slowly, I began pressing on the trigger. I didn't stop pressing until I was satisfied enough with the result.

"AHHHHH!", he screamed like a girl at the same time squirming away from the water. In the process of squirming away, he dropped his gun on the ground leaving him unarmed. I just began to laugh uncontrollably with a big grin on my face. He turned around, his beautiful green eyes meeting mine, glaring at me. He didn't exactly look happy. I realised too soon that he had tackled me to the ground with his stupid grin on his face. He began to tickle me which resulted in me laughing more than I already did. And I hate being tickled.

"ST-STOP JAMES!", I said in between my laughters, which is, may I tell you, really difficult.

"What did you say?", he replied with a smirk. He was taunting me, I knew it.

Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce to you; my annoying 20 year-old brother, James Moore. We were having a water fight with water guns, if you haven't figured out yet. And I won, making him the loser! This was the first time I actually won, and let me tell you, it really was an amazing feeling. He was soaking wet from the water from my water gun. The water from his hair was dripping down at me, I had to get him away from me so I didn't end up soaking wet too. I had a plan.

"JAMES YOU ARE HURTING ME!", I almost screamed. Since I screamed, I was able to speak properly. He was still on top of me, but he wasn't hurting me, it was just an act of mine. I put on a hurt expression, clutching my stomach where he straddled me, like I really was in pain. He did weigh much, but well, he is a guy, but still, he didn't weigh enough to really hurt me. When he saw my faked expression, he immediately lifted himself off me. His face was laced with guilt and concern. His stupid smirk was wiped from his face.

"Gosh, I am so sorry, Amelia, are you okay?", he spoke softly while grabbing my cheek. An apology shone in his eyes. I guess I should be an actress after all.

Maybe I could win an Oscar too? I began smiling at that which gave away everything.

Oh no.

He realised what happened, and his face turned into a mad expression. He wasn't really mad, he is just playing around and he is fully aware of me knowing it.

"AMELIA MOORE! That wasn't nice, you little - !", he began but I cut him off mid-sentence when I quickly stood up while I had the chance to. I began running away from him. He lunged at me, but with me thinking quick I slid to the side, which ended up with him falling to the ground in our backyard. By now, he was now soaking wet and his body was partly covered in mud. I am in so deep trouble.
I busted out laughing; he is making a such a fool of himself today. I wonder why. He is never usually this easy to overcome, I mean I am three years younger than him and weaker than him. But smarter.

"ARRGGH, that isn't fair!", he said while pouting like a child lying on the ground. I almost wanted to apologise. Almost.

"You are just mad that I actually won this time, even though I am three years younger than you. Ha, how could your little sister win over her big brother? That's interesting", I taunted him with a smirk. I noticed that his cheeks began to redden. Aww. He began lifting himself up from the ground and that's when I realised I should have ran while I had the chance to. I was being too distracted by his little act.

I mean, he is actually really brilliant. In school, he was also an A-student with a few B's here and there, but I am still proud of him though. The difference between me and him is that he was more popular than I am in school. He wasn't popular nor unpopular, he was just in the very middle, I guess you can say.

I didn't notice I was thinking too much before I felt his hand grasp my ankle. He pulled it, which resulted in me falling to the ground too. He was being gentle of course. It was impossible to keep a straight face so I began laughing again.

"HA! Got you! You get so easily distracted, pumpkin", he said with his stupid grin again.

"James, you know how much I hate that nickname", I scolded him with a scoff. He gave me that nickname when we were really young because of my red-brownish hair. He had said: "You remind me of a pumpkin, you know, those on the doorsteps on Halloween!". His words exactly.

How sweet.

Notice the sarcasm.

My younger self had playfully hit his arm, knowing that he was just playing with me. I just love these days with my brother laughing beside me, just like when we were children. We had and, surprisingly, still have so much fun even when we are adults. Or I mean, adult and teenager. He was, and still is, so overprotective of me, which I am eternally grateful for. I love my brother to death, I would easily take a bullet for him without hesitation. That's how much I love him.
We were staring up at the sunset from the ground, lying beside each other. Finally some peace. At last.

Or so I thought.

"JAMES, AMELIA! DINNER IS READY!", I heard my mom yell from the kitchen. I sighed. This was a relaxing moment of peace until mom came along and ruined everything.

Just kidding.

Gosh, how much I love my family.
