Hi, my little pies!!

So I don't like the way my other books aren't going very well. I might not delete anything but I'll do a lot of editing. Hope you enjoy this book~

I flopped on my bed and curled up in a ball. The kitten I had found out in the rain curled up in my arms. Before I did anything, I immediately washed her, fed her, and made sure she wasn't injured. I pet the cute little kitten. Her white fur was as soft as a fluffy cloud in the heavens. She was so cozy. She has a small heart-shaped black spot of fur in the middle of her head. If only she could see it.

"You know what...let's do something new," I smiled at the kitten and rubbed noses with her. "Let's go meet our neighbors." I never thought I'd say that before, yet it just jumped right out of my mouth.

I got up off my bed and picked up the kitten. I cuddled it in my arms as I opened the front door, leading into the hallways. I then saw a person moving into a room right across from mine.

"Ooo newcomers like me, huh," I said to the kitten and giggled. She looked up at me and meowed.

He had then noticed that I was looking at him. I squinched my eyes so I could see him clearly. I need glasses.

"Hey," He spoke.

"Hey."

"Moved to Japan to stay," He asked.

"Correct," I smiled. "How'd you know?"

"I mean we're literally both black people in Japan," he said in a sarcastic, yet playful tone. We laughed and I blushed out of embarrassment.

He smiled. "I lived with a friend up here for a few months a while back and decided to move into my own place away from my hometown."

"I moved with my parents when I was little. We lived in Tokyo. I didn't like all the noise," I smiled with my head down a little. "You need a hand," I asked.

"That would be wonderful," He sighed with a lazy smile.

"Ok let me grab a jacket real quickly. It's raining pretty bad out there."

He put a hand up at me to signal that he was waiting.

I was about to run to grab a jacket when he called me.

"Oi."

"Yes," I asked.

"You can put the kitten on my bed. I'm done with my room."

"Oh, are you sure? I could just put him back in my house."

"I'm pretty sure you don't want to leave a kitten in your room. You want to hold it. If you didn't, it'd still be in your room."

That is...true. I feel so stupid right now. "Thank you," I smiled softly. He's a smartass...huh.

I walked into his room and put the kitten on the bed.

This is weird. Being in a boy's apartment. Well...I'm here now though.

I grabbed a hoodie out of my room and went out to help the boy. This guy... looks about 5'11 with slight muscles, whenever he's not flexing. His skin is the color of milk chocolate. A little darker than brown. Natural dreads up in a messy ponytail with beads on the ends. Different...He's approachable, though he looks like he could be intimidating if he wanted to be. Seems like a cool friend to hang around if you're not sensitive and super emotional. He's attractive I will say, but I just met him and real relationships of all kinds take time and patience.

"Last thing I need to do is pick up the couch. How strong are you," he asked me.

"Oh...I uhh...don't know my own strength."

"Let's find out then."

"On the count of three."

"One.."
"Two.."
"Three!"

I picked up the couch up to my waist and walked back to his living room with a little difficulty.

"Wow. Not bad."

"I guess it's a gift."

"So...My name is Icarus. My big brother, Marcus is one door away from me on the left."

"Nyla. Nice to meet you, Icarus," I said with a smile on my face. "Aren't you famous for not making it to manhood," I tease. He laughs.

"Well, I made it," he jokes along. He pulled off the hood on his hoodie and sat on the couch. I was curious about him. He seemed interesting...
