Chapter 40

Kayla's pov

"Flight 135, to Michigan. Please board at gate 5"
This was it. Time to go back.
It seems so pathetic. We just got here. I hadn't spoken to Harry again. I was so annoyed. He'd kept trying to call me but I kept ignoring him. He seems like such a horrible person, but he's not.
I know he's had a tough childhood, I mean he had that man as his father.
"Kayla, it's time to go now honey." my mom said quietly.
"Can you wake your brother up?" she asked and I nodded.
Josh had fallen asleep on my shoulder. He was very upset that we were leaving but he's forgiven my mom. I slowly shook him awake and he groaned and stood up slowly. I quickly shoved my headphones in my ears and played Imagine Dragons, I didn't want to hear Josh's complaining.
I didn't even say a proper goodbye to Harry. Maybe I should have answered his calls.
We silently walked towards the gate and gave our boarding passes and passports before getting on the plane. I pulled out my phone and quickly texted Harry.

Harry's pov

I had to tell her. I had to get to her in time. I was running through the airport doors, not even bothering to apologise to the people I was running into.
"Flight 135, to Michigan. Please board at gate 5"
I heard the woman's voice boom through the speakers. Shit.
I around, looking for gate 5. Then I saw her. She was walking towards the gate. Headphones shoved in her ears.
"Kayla!" I shouted, just as she disappeared through the gate. I've lost her. I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket and looked at the text.

Goodbye x

At that one word my heart broke.

I might write an epilogue as well.
