My friends and I have always been different. We were just born to like different things. We've never washed our hair as much as we were "supposed" to. We've never been in with fashion. We've never eaten the same foods as the other kids. Our lives have just gone with the flow. In short, we've never "fit in," but we've always stuck together.

In 3rd grade, we all started wearing tie-dye. While the other kids were playing Pokemon, we would sit in the woods and listen to bird calls. In 4th grade, my mom kicked me out because she "would not raise a disobedient child, such as myself." After that, I went to live with Rain. She's like a sister to me. Plus, her parents are far out. In 6th grade, Ferris and I started dating. In 8th grade, Rain and Marc started liking each other. That was also the year Leo figured out he didn't need to love a girl to be happy. I mean, he basically gets an orgasm from breathing air anyways.

As the years went on, society handed everybody their pretty little labels that would follow them FOREVER. Jocks, cheerleaders, and queen bees are put up on pedestals like royalty. The cafeteria is where all the cliques are separated. Not that I would know very well, my group eats outside. Most people received mainstream labels. We received the title of "hippies."

At first, we thought it was way too far fetched to be true. We had heard the rumors of what hippies do. Seeing as we didn't fit in any other category, we figured maybe the rumors were overstretched. But as time passed, we started fitting the label more and more, until finally we became the stereotypical hippies.

We have no regrets; this is our life. We get to live freely. We get to do what we want, when we want. Being a hippie is a lifestyle, and we live that lifestyle with all our hearts. We get to flow with the river of life. We smoke marijuana to keep ourselves high, while society and the media try to pull us down.

It's not a popular opinion to be a hippie. We're going into our senior year of high school (surprisingly, we all didn't fail) and still we haven't met anyone else at our school that picks up our vibes. I'm still dating Ferris. Rain and Marc still belong together and life is great for Leo.

Everything is at peace.
