Minhyuk - A Little Further

"Happy birthday to youuuu! Make a wish!"

It was my birthday. I didn't do anything special though, I just had some friends over. As they were leaving, I was cleaning up the kitchen by myself because apparently if "my friends" are really my friends, then they would stay and help clean up their damn mess... But it's fine. It was raining so hard and I didn't want them to stay longer before it rains even harder. One person did stay though and that person was Minhyuk.

"Hey, where'd you want all the soda cans?"

"Just put them in a plastic bag but don't throw them out, you can get money off of them."

Minhyuk is one of the friends in our group that I'm not too close to but we get along really well. He got my back, I got his but there's nothing more between us. I mean he's cute and all but I have my eyes on someone else hehehe for so long actually. I don't even think he knows I exist.. Well, we both talk to our group of friends about our crushes and we give each other advises and stuff so that's cool.

Once my place looked clean as ever, Minhyuk and I sat on the couch and let out a huge breath in relief.

"Thanks for staying to help me clean Minhyuk. You really didn't have to."

"Oh, its's no problem. After all, it is your birthday. You shouldn't be the one cleaning haha."

"Oh yeah haha. Well, shouldn't you be heading home now? I don't want you to get caught in the rain."

He looked outside the window once he heard the rain pouring even harder.

"You're right. Okay, well thanks for having me. I'll see you later."

I then walked Minhyuk to the door and watch him get in his car. I stood by the door until he actually drives off and leave but then he had trouble starting his car since it started to hail out of no where so I signaled him to come back inside.

"What happened?" I said handing him a towel to wipe his drenched self.

"I don't know, it just wouldn't start." 

He then took out his phone out to call someone. I went to the kitchen to make some hot tea.

"Sorry Y/N but would you mind me staying here for a bit before my ride picks me up?"

"Oh no, you're always welcomed here. Stay as long as you need. You want some tea?"

"Thanks Y/N and yes please. It's so cold out."

I then handed him his tea and went back to the kitchen to make some coffee for myself. We just talked about our life and how we've been these days. There were some silence in between our talks but it wasn't awkward at all.. Until he decided to ask the question.

"Huh?"

"You know... one of our friends told me that the crush you're always taking about is me. Is that true?"

"What? Who told you this?"

He gasped. "So it's true!"

I went to the fridge and looked for some creamer.

"Okay wait I don't even remember saying..."

"Because I feel the same way.."

His words caught me off guard. I just stood there with a blank face, not making a single movement. I can feel my whole face turning red. Good thing my back was facing him so he couldn't see it. I couldn't even breathe. I then heard his footsteps walking towards me. I patted my face to calm the redness, closed the fridge and turned around. Then our noses touched. but not in a cute way, like we literally bonked noses lmao I might have to go to the hospital because of that. We both laughed as we held our noses in pain. He then got closer to me, held my waist, looked me in the eyes and said,

"It's true Y/N. You're the crush I was talking about and I was thinking if you want to take our friendship a little further."
