The next morning, Mac woke up in his own bed with a killer headache and memories of the night before flowing through his brain. It wasn't odd at all that despite the obvious hangover, he remembered the events of the night before. Such as the fact that he had brothers he never even knew about and that the supernatural were real.

I bet Jack would have fun with this, Mac thought as he rolled out of bed. Groaning, he stumbled out of the room and into the bathroom across the hall, reaching the porcelain bowl just in time to retch last nights dinner and drink up.

Once he was through, he flushed the toilet and straightened up, looking at himself in the mirror. His face was pale and his eyes were unfocused; his hair was sticking to his face in sweaty strands and he just overall looked sick. The area where he had been bitten was completely healed; there was no scarring that even pointed to a bite ever being there.

I've never been this hungover before, Mac observed with a bit of concern knawing at him.

Mac shook his head slightly and turned the shower on high. He was going to clean himself up and get rid of whatever stench was on him. Thinking back to Dean and Sam, he began to wonder when they brought him home and how they knew where he lived. And how the bite healed the way it did.

It was really strange how he could see himself in the two of them and he only just met them. Sam was like him -smart and conventional; he cared about everyone and wanted to save everyone. If he couldn't save everyone Sam blamed himself and thought he couldn't save anyone. He trusted more than he questioned and was stubborn.

Dean was pretty much the same except for the fact that he hid when he was hurting much like Mac did. He was a stubborn jackass, probably as stubborn as it gets and more. He looked at the world like there wasn't anything he hadn't really seen yet and he had trouble trusting other people.

Mac looked at them, thought about them and saw aspects of himself that he never saw before. They were alike in so many ways and appearances weren't far off either. Ending his shower, he cut the water off and stepped out. Glancing at the wall clock, he silently cursed. He was gonna be late.

Rushing about to get dressed, he had no idea that he was being watched by some- one who was planning something that was bound to backfire.

Mac walked quickly down the hall toward the war room where he was sure his team was waiting, ignoring the stares he got from fellow agents. The hall seemed to grow in length and he faltered, the floor tilting. He blinked and a second later it was gone.

Frowning, Mac made his way to the war room and opened the door. Riley and Bozer were talking quietly in the corner of the room, her laptop sitting on her lap; Jack and Matty were arguing with each other about something Mac suspected had to do with him; Cage was standing to the side, her arms crossed and listening to them bicker. However at the sound of the door opening, everyone turned to him and the room fell silent.

Mac let the door shut behind him, figuring it was too late to back out now. Emotions that Mac knew all too well crossed Jack's features and he knew what was coming next.

"Where in hell's name have you been?" Jack demanded stepping forward.

"Uh..." Mac was speechless. He really had no idea what to say. He couldn't just tell them that a vampire had attacked him and he was saved by hunters who actually turned out to be his older brothers and that his father was actually dead.

"Mac, we were worried!" Riley exclaimed.

"Some chick by the name of Natalie ran into the rave screaming for Jack. She said that you had been attacked and when we got there, you were gone." Bozer said.

Mac frowned, unsure of how to tell them the truth without revealing too much. He laughed nervously, scratching the back of his head. "Funny story actually, I was attacked but someone helped me."

"Shouldn't you be in a hospital?" Cage questioned. "The girl said the person who attacked you, ripped into your throat with his teeth."

Mac froze, flinching as the memory of such occasion resurfaced fully and he shook his head, clearing it. "I . . ."

Riley and Bozer glanced at each other, both seeming to notice Mac's discomfort. Jack stepped closer and watched him closely, inspecting him for injuries. His dark eyes lingered on his neck and his brows creased.

"If that's the case then shouldn't there be a mark or a scar?"

Mac gave up on trying to conceal how distraught he was. "Jack!" Apparently there was something in his voice that convinced Jack to pause. "Please just . . . stop asking questions."

Jack stared at Mac as if he were confused with what he was asking. He was studying him and Mac knew why. Jack knew that he wasn't telling them something and even though they all did, they didn't know close to how much as Jack did.

"Fine. I'll back off but eventually you gotta tell me everything." Jack said with his hands raised in a 'I'm not armed' stance.

Matty, who had been silent for the whole duration finally spoke. "Good . . . because we have a case."
