jjak! jjak! jjak! jjak!

the unknown sound wakes taehyung up. it was an alarm. on a saturday! taehyung motions over to his phone to turn off the alarm completely. he looks at the time and it reads 2:30 a.m.

why an alarm for 2:30?!?

tae tries to fall back asleep, but fails to do so. he starts to think about things, but his mind just rushes over to that one person. the person that we can never get out of our heads. this certain person can be different for everyone, but for taehyung in particular, it is none other than jeongguk.

with him on tae's mind, tae texts his bestfriend.

bestfriend:
are you awake?

after waiting a few seconds, a ding! suddenly interrupts the silence around tae.

bestie:
now i am
thanks for waking my beauty sleep :)

bestfriend:
i can feel the sarcasm from here chimney
but...

bestie:
but...?

bestfriend:
canyoupleasegivemejeongguk'snumber
helpapersonout

bestie:
gotchu
XXX-XXX-XXXX
but don't be scared this time
i want you to be happy, not hurt

taehyung gladly takes the number and takes jimin's words as advice. he smiles at how sweet his dirty-minded bestie could be. before moving on to put jeongguk's number in his phone, taehyung texts a goodnight to jimin.

you see, taehyung is not a "normal" person to say the least, he doesn't text the person. instead, tae calls jeongguk.

i'm just getting it over with, tae thinks to himself.

in all honesty, taehyung just couldn't wait to talk to jeongguk. the phone rang twice before it was answered.

"hello?" a raspy voice says on the other line.

"um... hi," taehyung answers back, blushing at how hot jeongguk's voice sounded.

after that small greeting, jeongguk was more awake than ever. It was taehyung.

"s-"

"ggukie, i'm so sorry. i didn't mean to wake you. i know it's 2 in the morning but, i just needed someone to talk to and i couldn't talk to anyone else because i really missed you. an-" taehyung is cut off from rambling on again.

"tae, it's okay," tae can picture the smile on jeongguk's through the phone. it was a small smile.

taehyung calms himself down by keeping his breathing steady.

"so, what did you need to talk about?"

"well, I need some help for the biology project."

"what are you asking for?" a sly smile creeps on jeongguk's face.

"can you help me with the project, ggukie?" taehyung blushes softly.

"sure, do you wanna meet up today? maybe a little later today, so you can sleep a bit more?"

"thanks for being considerate and all. But yeah, you can come to my house today." tae continues, "i'll tell jin-hyung about it too."

"okay. i'm up for it."

"b-"

"hey, um... tae," jeongguk says, "i missed you."

the line goes off before tae can respond. he's stunned. but he feels warm. after that phone call, he can't help but squeal and feel small. into his pillow, he screams and tries to fall asleep, to listen to jeongguk's advice of getting more sleep.

3:45 a.m. is what the clock reads now. taehyung just can't fall asleep again. after a few minutes, his mind drifts off into what his day might look like. with the phone call and upcoming events, tae finally falls asleep with a smile on his face.
