The next day my parents decide to allow me to sleep in, sadly my friends aren't that thoughtful. Amicitia comes knocking on my window at nine o'clock, now that might not seem early to the majority of people, but for a girl that you'd be lucky to see up and about before one during the weekends it's equivalent to five in the morning. "Wakey, wakey because there are no eggs and bakey." I grunt and roll onto my other side, dragging my cushion over my head trying to block out the sound of her voice when she plops down on my bed, nearly crushing both my legs. "Come on Katei, Chris is waiting in the car and I cleared today with your parents, your day is free and we're going shopping for absolutely stunning clothes for you today." I grunt in response and pull the covers over my head. She pulls the covers down from my face, lifts the pillow and sings the only thing that could get me to climb out of bed. "Your parents gave me their Black Card" Now that was promising, my parent's job has certain perks, whereof which the Black Credit Card is my favourite, especially since it isn't limited to company expenses and my parents don't have to pay a dime for it. I jump out of bed pull on my regular outfit which consists out of jeans, a T-shirt and any jacket and pair of shoes that match, and pull my brush through my hair, trying to tone down the curl a bit.

I grab my backpack and we head out the front door, saying goodbye (and good morning in my case) to my parents in the kitchen that doubles as their office when they work from home. Chris is waiting in Amicitia's car when we get there. He climbs out gives me a hug and opens our doors for us like a true gentleman. He climbs in and starts the car. Amicitia and Chris are in the two front seats talking about the different malls we can go to today, giving me the freedom to let my thoughts wander. I end up thinking about last night's dream, or more specifically him, the gorgeous boy that looked about my age. His eyes, that straight nose, defined jaw and those rosy lips, I swear I've seen him before, but I can't think where. Does he go to our school? Maybe I've seen him at assembly, but that can't be right, I'm junior class president I know all juniors and most of the sophomores and seniors and a guy as gorgeous as him would certainly be on everyone's radar.

We stop at a red light and Chris pokes me, "Hey sleepyhead, we asked if you wanted breakfast before we head to the mall."

"Yeah, sure how 'bout we go to McDonalds" The light turned green and Chis had to turn his attention back onto the road, but not before agreeing enthusiastically. We stop at McDonalds and climb out, Chris heads inside to stand in the queue while Amicitia and I go to the bathrooms, mainly because I forgot to brush my teeth, and luckily I still have my aeroplane toothbrush kit in my backpack from my last trip. I quickly brush my teeth while Amicitia complains/brags about Chris and all his achievements. "Now that he's senior class president I barely see him anymore and his obligations as the captain of the football team doesn't help much either. Did you see the way that Levore looks at him when he plays, I swear if I catch her staring at his six pack one more time I'm going to..."

"Hey, watch your language and quit whining about your boyfriend, I get it your boyfriend is hot, smart, and successful and fit, whereas mine is non-existent." I can see the worry on her face. "Sorry Katei, I didn't mean it like that and seeing as we're talking about boys, I see Andy from AP Chemistry has been checking you out..." I stop her right there. "No, I'm not going to go out with Andy, even if he is sweet and cute," he is, he's just not my type, to be honest I don't know what my type is. I've only had a handful of boyfriends, most of them when I still thought a kiss was a thimble, like in Peter Pan. "Katei, your seventeenth birthday is in two days and you've never even been kissed. I didn't think it was possible especially with you I mean you're stunning, brilliant, likable and kind" I feel the heat of blush moving up my cheeks. "Funny," I say as we walk out of the bathroom into McDonalds. Chris has already gotten our food and is waiting at a table for us. We sit down and discuss our plans for the day, after we eat we are going to go to the thrift shop down the street and then the mall on 2nd Avenue, after that we'll flip a coin to decide where we go.

We climb into the car and head to the thrift store. The drive went by so quickly my seat wasn't even warmed up when we had to get out. The store has been around longer than all of us put together and it still has the best quality and bargains, not to mention I adore Sofia, the 79-year-old lady that owns the shop, she's been in my life for as long as I can remember. The bells above the door chime as we walk in. Sofia walks out of the storage room "Sweetie pies, I didn't know you were coming. I would've saved some chocolates for you." She was genuinely the grandma I never had. "No Ms. Parakatathi we can't take chocolate from you" She gives me a condescending. "Stop with the Ms. Parakatathi I've told you countless times to call me Sofia. Well let me know if you need any help."

"Certainly Sofia." With that took off into the isles looking at dresses, shirts, shoes, jeans and most importantly jackets. I was looking at a beautiful lace-trimmed powder blue top when the bell chimed again, when I looked up I saw the second-biggest jerk in the school (Livore being first) Mudak Kapanos, or as he prefers, Ack. This big 6-foot-tall bully is Chris's only competition on the football field and the last person I'd expect to find in a thrift store on a Saturday ALONE. Not even one of his twenty various girlfriends were dragging him into the shop, I am truly dumbstruck and trust me that is probably one of the rarest occurrences I know of. "Ami, check the door. Unnoticeably!" She looked at the door and "What in the name of Tiffany and Armani is he doing here?" she whisper/shouted, yip, there it is. "I don't know. Chris!" Chris turned his head towards us and saw Ack. I saw him swear under his breath and walk over to us. "What is that thing doing here?"

"I don't know, honey." Amicitia tried to calm her boyfriend, but it didn't help. Mudak's actions don't help either, he has spotted us and was heading our way. "Gra-Ancara, I see you brought your girlfriend out to your playground, ooh, and looks like she doesn't mind sharing you, I wonder if you would mind sharing her."

Chills went down my spine, the ice-cold chill of disgust. We had to physically hold Chris back it took both of us and he still moved forward, trying to beat the snot out of the little bugger. "Mudak, leave before I tell Sofia that you're here to return that lacy bra you bought." I was going to pay for that Monday. Flustered and speechless he turned around and stomped out of the shop leaving a concerned Amicitia and peeved Chris in his wake. "Sweetie, calm down. He's not going to touch me, not even in his sick and twisted dreams," Chris still looked ready to kill Mudak. My blood was boiling and the wind was howling outside I might just join Chris in his manhunt, but sadly I need to keep my record clean if I want to get that scholarship to Harvard's medical school so: "Chris, listen to her, as much as I'd love to help you hunt him down we have to pay for these AMAZING jackets and we have to get going. A whole day of messing around with you lies ahead." Luckily, he choked out a chuckle. We paid and left the shop with a short goodbye to Sofia.
