After I had dropped Vaki off, Spoon gave me a lecture on the short drive to my house.
"You DO know he's dangerous right? He has powers!" He scolded me. Yeesh, that stung a little. And yes, I haven't told him about MY powers yet. He doesn't need to know, it doesn't affect him.
"Yes dad. I understand" I mock, him rolling his eyes.
"You have a crush!" He declared.
I gasped in pretend shock, "What? Of course not!" I gave a nervous laugh. "You know he's hot. Don't lie. He lives right there too!"
We were still sitting in the car. He grumbles under his breath, something about me being right I assume.
He gets out, waltzing into my house. I groan as I follow, expecting him to steal all of my precious food like he always does.
"Vern, sweetie! How are you?" My mom loved Spoon, perhaps more than me.
"Hi Mrs. Taylor. I'm good how are you?" He smiles sweetly as I narrow my eyes at the back of his head. Why is he playing nice?
"I'm great honey thanks for asking. Would you like some brownies that I baked? They have fudge in them."
Oh. That's why.
"Thanks Mrs. Taylor! I would love some!" He smirks joyfully at me.
"Can I have so-" I'm cut off as they leave the room, not even offering me any. I sigh, following.
"Oh, hello Pride" My mother finally greets me.
"Hi mother, can I have some brownies?"
"Of course dear." I grin as I take the whole tin, bolting to my room.
"Pri-!" My mother tries to stop me as Spoon follows, giggling.
He puts his hands to his knees once we reach my room. "Why does that always work?"
I shrug as I put down the brownies, eager to do research on a special someone.
I quickly google his name.
"What're you doing?"
I turn my chair around, making eye contact with Spoon. "I'm doing research on Vaki. He gave me weird vibes, but at the same time good ones. So, i'm curious."
I'm not creepy... right?
Nothing comes up in google, nothing at all. I frown, a little disappointed.
"Pride!" My mother calls down the hallway. "Did you hear about the new neighbors?"
I meet her in the hall. "Yeah, why?"
"Can you take this casserole to them? You know where they are right?"
"Yep"
"By the way, it's only the son and the dad, so careful not to mention anything about... You know."
"Yes mother." I quickly shake my head of any of my curious questions, and grab the casserole.
I jog across the street and knock on the door. Vaki answers, with sunglasses on.
"Hey Vaki, why the sunglasses?"
"Sensitive eyes," he puts it simply.
I get a little suspicious, but say nothing about it.
I hear slurred words from inside, "Bring me ano-!"
Vaki quickly closes the door behind him as he steps out.
I shake it off, deciding not to ask. "My mom made a casserole for you and your dad." I change the subject rather quickly.
He looks at the casserole, then back to me.
"Thanks," he takes the casserole, getting a whiff I see his eyes widen in excitement and make eye contact.
I see his violet eyes and gasp quietly. He immediately looks away and opens his door again.
"Thanks again for the casserole. It smells good." He gives a gentle smile as he waves goodbye and shuts the door.
I take a moment to walk down his driveway, before looking back just in time to see the curtains near the front door shut.
I furrow my eyebrows. Something is going on.
--------
Apparently Spoon had left when I was at Vakis house, so I didn't get to say bye.
I was watching TV when I heard a strange scratching at the back door.
Not trying to be the stereotypical girl that dies first in the horror movies, I quickly grab an umbrella and head to the back door.
I saw a deer with it's antlers stuck in our fence. He had a huge white patch near his tail.
I quietly walk over to him, trying not to scare him. I shush him gently as he begins to look at me, like he was going to freak out.
Surprisingly, he calms down and allows me to free his antlers.
As he begins to run back into the woods, I notice he has a slight limp. I can't catch him now, he'll never allow me to look at it.
I sigh, hoping he'll get better on his own as I walk back into my house, feeling like a saviour.
Vakis POV
As I watched her free that deer, I wondered if she would even dare like me.
I shake my tiny head at the thought, as I fly away, back into my window. Quickly changing back, I settle into bed with a smile.

What do you think Vaki is?
What was the meaning behind the deer?
