'Darn. . What are we gonna do?' I thought.

I stood outside the exit with Carrah, she seemed to realize it as well.

Now that I think about it more, we have only two options. Walk home or wait for Ben since he did tell my dad he would bring me home..

If my dad finds out that I walked at night he's gonna be so pissed.

I mentally groaned, no more lectures.

"Somehow, somewhere, someway, this is Bens fault" I mumbled under my breathe as the music blasted inside the building.

Carrah glanced at me and chuckled a bit, how is she so happy all the time.

"Well... you know our options" she spoke and glanced around the wooded area. This place is surrounded by trees and it is even creepier at night.

"Yea" I mumbled and looked up at the moon.

"What do you want to do?" I asked my eyes still on the bright moon.

She thought for a sec before she spoke up.

"Maybe Ben could drop us off and then come back, I don't think he will mind and it can't hurt to ask" she beamed, why is she like this. She's to sweet for her own good and she's not wrong.

I glanced at her and let the idea sink into my head.

I finally sighed in defeat and looked back at the building, I guess it couldn't hurt to try. It's better than walking, especially since it's night.

"Alright, I'll go find and ask- you can come if you want" I told her, she looked at me then at the moon.

She smiled a bit, her eyes gleaming with content.

"It's alright, I'll stay here. I like the outdoors and how the night feels" Carrah responded, her eyes dancing from the woods to the sky.

"Alright, I'll be back shortly" I finished and made my way back inside, looking back for a sec. maybe she just wants to be alone for a bit. I doubt she's that cheerful all the time, she must be hurting to much for her own good.

I shook my head and tried looking for Ben however, to my avail, he's no where.

"Ugh, it's like finding Waldo.. it's impossible" I grumbled, my body getting tired after the long day. I just want to go home I mentally sighed.

My eyes glossed over the crowed trying to find the shortie somewhere. 'I mean, he's wearing a green suit! You think he would stick out like a sore thumb!' My mind argued.

I walked around a bit, trying to locate the green shortie.

I looked over my shoulder and suddenly felt some weight in front of me, I jerked my head in front of me and stumbled back a bit.

"My bad" a voice spoke up, "I didn't really see you there and this place is a little crowded."

I know that voice, it's the same voice that listened to my late night rants, the same voice that soothe me down from my outburst, the same voice that makes me feel safe, the same voice that I treasured so much after all these years.

"Xavier?" I asked while looking up.

His smile seem to sparkle a bit, his dimples popping out.

"The one and only" he chuckled a bit, as his eyes scanned my face.

I chuckled along with him, he's an amazing friend and his ego surely didn't go away.

"Wow, it feels like forever since we last talked" I spoke, completely forgetting about Ben.

His smile never faltered. Come to think of it why does his smile look different this time.

I couldn't quite place this feeling, it's not love. I can assure that much, but his smile just seems. . . Off.

I smiled politely back as he finally responded to my thought.

"Yea, it has. I wish we could talk more. Sorry about the whole 'who bring who' date thing." He trailed off, "I wanted to take you but when you ran away and almost got hit I thought you didn't want to see me after that" he finished,
He glanced to the speakers, breaking eye contact.

"I just had a lot on my plate right now" I said, "not of you of course!!" I stammered, finally registering what I said.

He looked back at me giving his smile again. . Why does it feel off.

Now that I think about it and look back. . His smile has always been the same, something doesn't feel right now though.

"I'm glad it's not because of me however" he paused while looking around my face, "if you are having trouble, you know you can always come to me. I would be more than happy to help. .like when we were little" he mumbled the last part to himself, I still caught it though, barely.

"Of course, I'll remember that!" I beamed and gave him a reassuring smile.

He nodded and looked behind me then looked back at me.

"Well then, I'm gonna go get a drink" he trailed off a bit, "would you want some?" He offered.

Before I could say anything my eyes caught the sight of green behind him, walking past.

My eyes widen a bit at the realization of my forgetfulness.

"I'm sorry" I got out, "I actually have to go, Carrah and I need to go do something"  I quickly walked around him before he could utter out an 'okay'

I glanced back as he looked upon my figure.

No time to think of this now.

I turned my head back and try to find where Ben had ran off too.

That shortie. .
