Crawl out my window

"Longer than you'd like."

His deep-gravelly voice found it's way from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet. I was too shocked to say anything to him, but I became aware of the fact that all I had covering me was a small towel. He also seemed aware of this because I was watching his eyes travel up and down my body. My mind traveled thinking about how uncomfortable I was in this unfortunate moment. I felt the water drip from my hair, and I caught myself staring at his perfectly sculpted face. Seriously, I could slice my finger on this guy's jawline! "So umm, I still have no idea who you are, or how you got into my room, but I'm about to have guests, so I think maybe you should leave. You might have to crawl out the window though, so nobody sees you..." My eyes travelled down to my feet as I quietly said this.

His eyes shifted to a more amused expression, "Did you just tell me to crawl out your window?"

I clutched the towel closer to my chest, my clothes still in my arms, "Yes, now if you don't mind, I have to change, so can you please just leave right now?" I was becoming irritated now, because the guests were coming soon and I currently looked like a drowned rat.

"Does it have to be out the window or can I leave through the door?" His response had an incredulous theme, he thought I was joking!

"I mean I guess you can go out the door but please don't let my Mom see you or I'll get into a lot of trouble." This comment, I said with a lot more confidence, I really needed him to leave! I watched as he shook his head, chuckling, and mumbled something under his breath. He turned his head once more, caught my eyes and walked out the door, closing it behind him. I let out a huge breath I was holding the whole time, and ran back into the bathroom. Who was that attractive man and how did he get into my room?

I finished drying my hair and put on the clothes I picked out. My hair was braided and wrapped into a bun. Just before I was going to turn and leave the bathroom, I noticed how dirty I had left it, jeez, I would have to clean it later. I looked at my phone's clock, 6:12pm. Crap! Crap! Crap! I was so late! Mom is gonna be so mad! With this, I made a mad dash for the stairs, probably looking like a crazy person. I skipped the last step and slid into the living room area. Immediately, I recognized that the guests were already here, and they definitely saw me running-and-sliding into the room.

My Mom's face was completely appalled, but she wiped the look off so quick I thought I was seeing things, but her eyes told me differently. Uh-oh "There she is! Camilla, Tom, this is my daughter Paige. I'm sure she is embarrassed by her tardiness..."Mom finished speaking and looked at me with a look like 'Aren't you embarrassed? How ashamed can I make you feel right now, for making a late entrance?'

My eyes shifted down a little, removing my Father and the guests from my view, "I'm sorry, it was completely my fault."

With my Mother, it was whatever she said, goes. Sometimes, I wish it weren't that way, but ever since Charlotte..... I just try to keep her as happy as possible, even if that means sacrificing MY happiness.

I went and sat down on the couch next to Michael, who had an amused expression covering his mouth. Turning my head, I was about to confront him for it, but then I felt a hand on my thigh. Shocked, I turned my head away from Michael.

A little girl, probably no older than 7 is clutching a doll, and looking at me with a toothy grin, "Do you wanna play with me?"

My lips twitched upwards, "Of course! What are we playing?" She handed me a marker, and showed me a stack of paper, "Tic-Tac-Toe, I like to play this with my brother but he always wins!"

I laughed a little, "What's your brother's name?"

She looked up at me; a little twinkle in her eyes, "Chacey! He's older than me, but he still plays with me all the time!"

Smiling, I turned and glanced at Michael, but he was playing a game on his phone; I turned back, "So where is your brother?"

Her little eyes wandered, and then they lit up, pointing she jumped to her feet and ran past me, "He's right here!" I stood up off the couch and turned my head slowly to see the little girl's brother.

Holy Crap!

That guy who broke into my room was standing in our living room! I wasn't sure what shocked me more, the relaxed pose he held against the door frame, or the fact that he immediately picked up the little girl and set her on his hip. I immediately stood up and walked towards the little girl and her so-called brother, "What are you still doing here?! I thought I told you to leave?!"

'Chacey ' raises his eyebrows quickly and gives me a little smirk as my mother gasps loudly, "Paige! That is no way to treat our guest!"

"Guest?!", I shriek, "B-but he broke into my room!" I pointed an accusatory finger at him, who doesn't look phased at all.

"I sent him up! Because you were being so rude in not coming downstairs!" My mother looked furious as she said this, steam practically coming out of her ears.

"I was in the shower!" My head was going to implode, to believe that my mother had purposely sent a boy up to my room, WHILE I WAS IN THE SHOWER.

"That is enough excuses, you should have showered hours ago! GO TO YOUR ROOM RIGHT NOW!" Her face grew red with all of her anger as she screamed at me.

My eyes widened and my mouth parted as I looked around at the guests, I cleared my throat when I saw my dad, avoiding my gaze, "Um, Excuse me..."

As I turned and speed-walked to the stairs, I could already hear my mother, "Goodness sakes, Please excuse her, Camilla! I can't believe how rude she was..."

Once I made to my room, I hastily wiped at my face and closed the door swiftly, knocking it.

Damn tears.
