God gave me you to make me smile
To have a hand to hold
To encourage me to go the extra mile
To share my secrets that are untold
To have someone to wipe my tears
To cheer me up when I am sad
To stand with me throughout my years
To comfort me when times are bad
I want to be those things for you
To walk beside you in this love
So these things I'll strive to do
With God's help from above
We'll be each other's help-mate
As we let God lead the way
