"This ice cream is so good." Alison said with her mouth almost full. She was having vanilla ice cream with M&Ms.
"You need to try this one" Colton said while eating his strawberry ice cream.He leaned over and tried to shove it in Alison's mouth.
"COLTON! You know I only eat vanilla ice cream." Alison screamed. She was laughing so hard that she nearly dropped her ice cream.
Colton chuckled" Oh Alison. You sure are special," He glanced down at his watch. It read "9:47p.m.". "Alison we should get going. You dad wants you home by 10. "
"Ok.Let me just clean the mess YOU made." she said blaming Colton.
"ME? You are blaming ME?How dare you!" he said joking around with her.
She rolled her eyes and turned away.
As they walked Colton asked" So Alison, did you enjoy '' The Fault In Our Stars''?" They'd just come out of watching the movie.
" Of course! But you know I already knew he was gonna die so it wasn't as sad as it was to others to me." she said.
"I knew he was gonna die. I just cried cause it seemed sad. I felt bad for Hazel." he said trying to play it cool.
"Ok Colton." Alison said as she patted his back.
" Fine. You got me. I didn't know he was gonna die cause I didn't read the book" Colton said ashamed of his lies.
" I knew you didn't from the moment you gasped when you found out the Hazel Grace had cancer." she said." Well we have reached my house," she took out her i-phone" Oh no! Its 10:03!I got to go. Bye Colton."
"Bye Alison" he said.
Alison got into her house to see her drunk father with a bunch of empty beer bottles on the coffee table.
" Hello Father. I am sorry I am late." Alison said, her voice shaky.
"WHY ARE YOU LATE ALISON? WHERE'D YOU GO WITH THAT BOY? WHAT WERE YOU DOING OUT WITH HIM SO LATE?" as he screamed at her he banged the beer bottle against the table, causing to break. One of the shards flew and sliced Alison in her stomach.
She winced in pain.She ran up the stairs to the bathroom.
"Where do you think you are going Alison?Get back down here Alison!" her father screamed.
"Shut Up Dad! You cut me!" she said as she locked the bathroom door.
When she took off her shirt to see the bruise, blue liquid oozed out and dozens of blue/black butterflies formed. They were so beautiful. They made her think of the butterflies she'd get in her stomach when she was around Colton.
" You give my butterflies,Colton." she said smiling. He wasn't there but it felt as if he could hear her.
She gasped " Colton."
She wanted to climb out the window but she remembered her bruise. When she looked down at her stomach to see the bruise there was nothing there.
She smiled at the thought of Colton and the butterflies and climbed out the window.
" I am coming Colton." she said as she jumped on her bike and headed for his house.
As she rode her bike, she followed the beautiful blue/black butterflies leading the way to his house.
