I woke up to the sun gleaming on my face and knew that I was home. I turned to one side and saw that it was 7:45 am and then got out of bed. I grabbed the same clothes as yesterday (I only had two outfits, the orphanage didn't give us much) and quickly got changed in the bathroom adjoining Pete's room. When I got out I saw Pete standing there and quietly said "Hi" , he waved and said "Breakfast is ready downstairs, I made pancakes and left them on the side. I've already eaten so you can have as many as you want." I smiled and nodded, my stomach rumbling as I walked down the stairs to the kitchen. I grabbed the whipped cream off of the side next to the pancakes which were in a towering stack and squirted it on the top. I grabbed a fork and tucked in.
A little while late Pete came downstairs with his hair wet and a different outfit on. He looked at what I was wearing with confusion and said "Why are you wearing the same thing as yesterday?" "We didn't get many outfits at the orphanage." I looked at my feet, "Sorry" I added. "No- don't be sorry, its not your fault that they did that. Today we'll buy some stuff, yeah?" He reached to put a hand on my shoulder and pulled me into a hug. I nodded into his chest as he continued "How about we go to the mall now, so we don't miss when the guys come back, and then you can wear one of your new outfits" "Ok". We both pulled on our shoes and climbed into his car. I grabbed the aux cord and started to plug in my phone when Pete took it from my hand and plugged his own in instead. "I want you to listen to this, its new music and we need someone to judge it". A bold song filled the car as Pete played me what I learnt later to be called 'The phoenix'.
We arrived at the mall in joyful spirits and bought a load of clothes, most of which were from Hot Topic.
An hour later, we wondered over to the food court with many bags in our arms and Pete asked me what to eat. I had no idea because I had never been to this mall before, neither had I tried any food from a fast food restaurant, only heard of them in passing, so I told him to choose and he led me over to Taco Bell. I started humming the taco bell saga as we waited for our order.Once we sat down and tucked into our food, Pete started some light conversation. He was in the middle of his sentence about his favourite colour when his phone started ringing so he stood up and went outside to answer the call.
A few minutes later he came back and told me that Patrick, Joe and Andy were only an hour away so we needed to head back. We tidied up our rubbish, and left.
Pete and I were at home hanging up my new clothes when I heard the sound of a car pulling up and the front door opening. I couldn't believe it! I was about to meet 3 more of my idols...
